During this one-day conference, HR experts and business leaders will discuss how the HR field has coped with the crisis and supported businesses amid the pandemic. Topics range from the practical employment issues faced by frontline HR professionals, to the strategic question of how to design a forward-looking organization that can thrive in uncertain times. Panel I - The Changing Paradigm of Employee Relations

The public health crisis and economic downtown have inevitably changed employee relations. How can we better prepare for the post-COVID-19 workforce? This panel will review the impact of the pandemic on employee relations as well as legal challenges surrounding employment issues. It will also discuss how to develop a new type of labor relations to adapt to an uncertain age.


Panel II - Strengthening Employer Brands During the COVID-19 Outbreak

The employer brand is an essential component of your recruiting and talent acquisition process. This panel will discuss why maintaining a positive employer brand is important during this rapidly changing environment. Speakers will offer their perspectives on branding, employee engagement, community relations, talent recruitment, and retention.

Panel III - The New Science of Compensation & Benefit Policies

As the COVID-19 pandemic has unfolded and led to unprecedented health and economic crises, employers are being forced to evaluate their rewards strategies across all levels of the organization. This panel will discuss how to align C&P with a company's business goals to maintain a competitive edge and gain long-term recognition.


Panel IV - Design a Forward-Looking Organization

COVID-19 is accelerating the pace of necessary changes to traditional organizational structures. Companies needed to accelerate their decisionmaking while also improving their productivity and digital and data offerings. This panel will share practices on how to design a lean and effective organization that thrives in uncertain environments.


This signature conference will also offer afternoon workshops on a range of topics.


This conference is organized with the support of AmCham Shanghai's Human Resources Committee, which provides a forum for members who are responsible for managing human resource issues. The committee works to exchange intelligence related to human resource concerns in the Shanghai region in a confidential setting. The committee also strives to provide information and networking opportunities for all AmCham Shanghai members who have an interest in human resource issues, from in-house HR practitioners to executive coaches, headhunters and other HR-related services.
