Monika Lin

Clinical Assistant Professor of Arts at NYU Shanghai

Monika Lin was born in Manhattan NY, USA. She has been living in Shanghai since 2006. As an artist and writer, Lin is interested in ecologies and the tension between the natural and built environment. She has an interdisciplinary practice that includes drawing, printmaking, painting, sculpture, animation, social art practice and public installations. Her interest in plastic manufacture, consumption and pollution has motivated her research and activism in the field of sustainability and reuse.

Lin holds an MFA from the School of Visual Arts in New York City and a BFA from Mills College in California. She has attended residencies in San Francisco, Jindezhen, Kerala, and Vermont. Monika teaches visual art at NYU Shanghai and previously at the San Francisco Art Institute and the Kansas City Art Institute. She conducts lectures and workshops at the Power Station of Art, the Minsheng Museum, and the Rock Bund Museum in Shanghai and at the Museum of Chinese in America in New York and outreach to local schools and community centers.

Bo moved and lived in Shanghai in 2017, and started urban conservation project that aims to change the relationship between city and nature so that natural solutions and conservation are recognized as essential components of a healthy and sustainable city.

Bo joined The Nature Conservancy as assistant of wetland project in Kunming in 2006. 4 year later, she was transferred to Beijing and become project officer of Yangtze River project on sustainable fisheries and planning. In 2015, she was named director of Dongtan conservation center in Shanghai, and assumed the role of on-site conservation and management practice.

Bo holds a Ph.D of environmental science from Northeast Institute of Geography and Agricultural Ecology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Changchun, China. She enjoys travelling, reading and writing stories of her cat.

Linda has lived in Shanghai since her childhood. She has rich experience in public affairs and marketing communications gained at global fortune 500 companies, with a strong dedication to corporate social responsibility and environmental protection for society’s sustainable development. Linda has led numerous corporate CSR programs to build up hope schools in rural areas for underprivileged children.

Linda joined Netspring Green IT Programs in order to support the recycling economy and create shared value between developed and under-developed Chinese areas. Netspring teams strive to protect our environment, transform obsolete computers and electronic waste into e-learning to foster digital inclusion of migrant and rural students, thus reducing education inequality.

Linda holds a joint MBA degree from Webster University and Shanghai Finance & Economics University and a bachelor degree from Tongji University majoring in civil engineering. She enjoys reading, traveling, and volunteering activities.

Veomayoury Baccam is the Director of Government Relations & Corporate Social Responsibility at the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. The American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, known as the "Voice of American Business" in China, was founded in 1915. AmCham Shanghai was the third American Chamber established outside the United States, and now has 3,000 members from 1,500 companies. As a non-profit, non-partisan business organization, AmCham Shanghai is committed to the principles of free trade, open markets, private enterprise and the unrestricted flow of information. She is responsible for coordinating the Chamber’s advocacy efforts with the U.S. Government and Chinese government and its Corporate Social Responsibility programs. Prior to joining AmCham, Ms. Baccam worked for 12 years in the U.S. diplomatic service. Her previous postings include Moscow, Geneva, Washington D.C., and Shanghai. She received her bachelor’s degree from George Washington University and a Masters of International and Public Affairs from Columbia University.

Mike Li was born in Tianjin, China. He has been studied and lived in Vancouver, Canada. Li has more than 14 years of Professional Logistics/Supply Chain, Business Development and Sales Experiences. He is also strong in analysis and interpersonal communication with creative thinking and outstanding leadership.

Li holds a commerce degree from the University of Ottawa. With a solid knowledge of Sea & Air freight/Trucking/Contract Logistic/Supply Chain and keen insights in Cross Border E-commerce/Cold Chain/FMCG/Auto Logistics, he’s contributed a lot during the serving in Yusen Logistics China.
