    Ning Zhu is a deputy dean and professor of finance at the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance, a faculty fellow at the Yale University International Center for Finance. He was the Oceanwide Professor of finance and deputy director at the National Institute of Financial Research at Tsinghua University and a tenured professor of finance at University of California.

    Professor Zhu is global leading expert on China’s economy and financial markets, behavioral finance, investments, and corporate finance. He has published numerous articles in leading journals in the finance, economics, management and legal fields.
    In addition to his academic research, Professor Zhu helps asset management companies in a wide range of capacities. During his leave from the University of California in 2008-2010, he implements his research into practice and leads the quantitative strategies and portfolio advisory teams at Lehman Brothers and Nomura International in Hong Kong, which was top ranked by leading institutional surveys. He commands extensive consulting experiences advising government agencies, such as the PBoC, CSRC, the World Bank and IMF, market regulators, stock and futures exchanges, and some of the largest institutional money managers and investment banks in the world.

    Professor Zhu is frequently featured in leading media columns, TV programs, and events such as Davos World Economic Forum and Bo’ao Asian Forum. He is the author of the best seller “China’s Guaranteed Bubble” and “The Investor’s Enemy”, both translated into multiple foreign languages and won some most prestigious research prize in China.

    Professor Zhu received his B. Econ. Degree from Beijing University, Master of Science degree from Cornell University (NY), and Ph.D. degree (finance) from Yale University (CT).

    With more than 30 years of experience in leadership roles, Shirley’s diverse experience in major markets in Asia makes her uniquely suited to lead Visa’s long-term growth in China. She brings a deep understanding of the partnership ecosystem relevant to China and has well developed relationships with clients in the financial services sector.

    During her career, she has also built a reputation for operational excellence and innovative strategic thinking. She was named Top 10 Women Professional Management leader in China in 2004, and the Person of the Year for IT Services in China in 2005.

    Shirley graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) with Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Computer Science.

    Walter Liu is the Chief Executive Officer of Express (Hangzhou) Technology Services Co., Ltd.; a joint-venture formed between American Express and LianLian with the purpose of operating a domestic network business in mainland China.

    In his role, Mr. Liu is responsible for leading the business, and crafting the commercial strategies necessary for the joint-venture to operate successfully.

    Mr. Liu is a seasoned risk management veteran with 18 years of experience at American Express where he has managed partner, consumer and commercial payments risk management in markets around the world.

    Prior to his current role, Mr. Liu was Chief Risk Officer, Asia Region and International Commercial Payments of American Express based in Hong Kong. Walter oversaw and developed the end-to-end risk management strategy, network and data capabilities across Asia and across all markets for commercial payments outside of the United States. In his past 12 years in Asia, he had built a strong risk management team and led the partnerships with FinTech start-ups, credit bureaus and bank partners to drive business growth in the region.

    Mr. Liu holds both Bachelor and Master’s degrees in engineering, as well as a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan in the United States.

    Haibin Zhu is a Managing Director, Chief China Economist and Head of Greater China Economic Research at J.P. Morgan. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan in 2011, Mr. Zhu was a research economist at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) for a decade. In 2016-2020, Mr. Zhu also served as Head of China Equity Strategy at J.P. Morgan. His areas of expertise include China economy, banking regulation and financial stability, equity strategy and asset allocation. He has published a dozen of articles in peer-reviewed journals including Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Banking and Finance, and International Journal of Central Banking, and won best paper awards in areas of real estate valuation, fixed income and banking. Currently he is an adjunct research fellow at the National Institute of Financial Research (NIFR), Tsinghua University, and adjunct professor at Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen).

    Mr. Zhu obtained a Ph.D. degree in economics from Duke University and, a M.A. from the Graduate School of People’s Bank of China, and a B.S. from Beijing University.
