AmCham Shanghai's Education Committee invites you to join a session about the education of migrant children in China on Aug 26 from 4:00-5:45 pm, featuring speakers from NGOs and education institutions.
Due to the dual urban and rural housing registration system in China, many migrant parents still face challenges enrolling their children in city schools and securing them equal education opportunities. In this session, leaders of NGOs such as Jiuqian and You Dao, as well as international schools from United World Colleges will share their observations of the current climate for migrant education. Speakers will also discuss how they developed programs to help migrant children at different schooling levels to reach their full potentials.
The event will help the audience to gain an understanding of non-governmental institutions' efforts to alleviate education inequality.
