Jens Ewert, is a Partner with Deloitte based in Shanghai office and China Firm since 2002, and has over 30 years of working experience in the professional services. For many years already, he is a member of Deloitte China Eastern Region Management team.

His responsibilities include our services to Multinational Clients (MNC) in China and some selected Clients across the Asia Pacific region. This covers our Advisory services (Consulting, Financial Advisory, Tax&Legal and Risk Advisory) as well as our Audit & Assurance.

Since mid-2019, Jens has also taken on the role as Deloitte China Life Science & Health Care Leader – covering an industry team comprising over 600+ partners and professionals focused on working with Life Science & Pharma companies as well as Healthcare and related services groups.

Jens is currently a Board member at the EUCCC Shanghai Chapter, and the National Chair of the Investment Working group since 2016 at the EU Chamber in China. He also was a member of the Board of Trustees at the French School in Shanghai starting in 2004 and the Chairman of the Board between 2007 until mid-2015.

Throughout his career, other than China, he has been living and working in France, Hungary, the US, Vietnam and Indonesia.

Jens holds German and French nationalities, and calls France – beyond Shanghai - his home. He received his education in France (Paris), University Paris Dauphine and the Institut des Sciences Politiques de Paris, and holds a CPA Australia license. He is a passionate Tennis and Golf player in Shanghai, when time permits.

David is a Director based in Shanghai. He was trained in Chemistry and Biophysics, has many years of R&D experience in academia as well as the biotech industry in the US before entering the consulting industry. In his consulting career, David worked frequently with life sciences clients on strategic and operational issues in R&D, product launch, market access, innovation, and organization change. He was the key author of a recent Deloitte China thought ware published “Opportunity and Influence for Localized Development – Pharmaceutical R&D Trends in China”.
David has education background of MBA at MIT, Biophysics PhD from University of Chicago, and Chemistry bachelor from Peking University

In her current role as Area Vice President, Veronica is responsible for all of 3M’s Health Care Business in China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

Previously she was President and Managing Director of 3M Taiwan. Prior to that, she was the Global Platforms Director for the Medical Solutions Division. Veronica is a transformational and growth-driven business leader. Her successful results have been driven by her ability to influence stakeholders, quickly grasp business needs and create strategies to drive change. A strong leader who develops high performance teams, Veronica identifies the talents of her team and builds on those strengths – always encouraging stretch goals and risk-taking. Over the course of her career, she has successfully paired strategic and operational business experience with strong financial, sales and marketing functional experience. Her business and marketing expertise spans Market Research, New Product Development, Strategic Planning, Pricing, CRM, Portfolio Management, and Brand Management. Veronica began her 3M career in Peru, where she held positions of increasing responsibility in Finance, Sales, Sales Management, Country Business Leadership, Corporate Marketing & Public Affairs, and Customer Service. In 2002, Veronica joined 3M Corporate Marketing as Marketing and Strategic Planning Manager for Latin America and Africa. In 2004, she was appointed Global Marketing Operations Manager for 3M ESPE. In 2008, she was named Global Business Director for Restorative Dental Products, and in 2010 she assumed the responsibility of Global Business Director for C3SD Acute Care Business. In 2013, she was appointed Business Development Director, Health Care Business for Latin America. Veronica has been actively involved in supporting women’s leadership and community programs. In 2019, She was the chair the American Heart Association chapter for women. Veronica holds a Business Administration degree in Marketing and Finance from the Universidad del Pacifico, in Lima, Peru.

With a Master’s Degree in International Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science, Thomas Shao started his career in Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce in 2000. He served as the Chief English Interpreter for Mayor of Shanghai for 7 years before he was promoted to Assistant Director for Foreign Investment Promotion Department in 2007. In 2012, he joined Evonik Degussa China as Senior Manager for Public Policy. In 2014, he joined Abbott as the Associate GA Director. Now he is
GA Director of Abbott China, responsible for policy & strategy and crisis management as well as supporting manufacturing operations in China.
