China's appetite for bakery and coffee products continue to grow unabated, despite a market saturated with Asian brands and a continued upswing in foreign offerings. According to the China industry research institute, the retail value of the baked goods market in China was nearly 217 billion yuan in 2018, and in terms of per capita consumption, China's baking market has a great potential to double or even triple. With such a growing market, there comes mounting challenges, room for improvement and a multitude of opportunities.
Sam Gao will give an overview of the world frozen dough industry and China's nascent frozen dough industry, comment on some bakery players' strategies and performances, successes and failures.
