AmCham Shanghai's Real Estate, Design & Construction Committee invites you to a discussion on how the hospitality industry has been coping with the challenges brought by COVID-19, how they have modified their operations since, what trends they forecast for the 2021 market and how they're preparing for those possible changes. Panelists will include Amane Karazawa, GM of Hyatt Regency Shanghai Global Harbor, Manoj Mehta, Group CEO of naked Group, Edison Chen, General Manager of Destination Marketing & Government Relationship (Overseas) at Trip.com Group and Susan Guo, Business Development Manager for China of STR.

The event will be held on Nov. 25 from 10am to 12pm at Chairman Room, 49th floor, the Hyatt Regency Shanghai Global Harbor.

    Manoj Mehta is chief executive officer at naked Group. The group includes naked Retreats, which has expanded to naked Castle, naked Water (Suzhou), naked Forest (Nanjing) and the forthcoming naked Creek (Hanzhong).

    In 2015, naked Group entered the co-working market and opened the first naked Hub in Shanghai. Within two years, naked Hub successfully completed 2 rounds of funding and expanded to 50 locations across China, Vietnam, UK and Australia. In April 2018, naked Hub and the global co-working powerhouse WeWork announced their plans to join forces.

    Prior to naked Group, Manoj worked for Goodyear and Ford Motor Company. He has also served a as an independent board director of Triangle Tyre Group, one of China’s largest tire manufacturers. Manoj is an active member of the American Chamber of Commerce and serves on the Advisory panel of the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU). He is also President of the Shanghai Cricket Club.

    Born in shanghai and grow up between Japan and China, Ms. Karazawa is fluent in Chinese (Mandarin, Cantonese and a Shanghai dialect), Japanese and English. She graduated from Tokai University with a major in Mass Media in Japan in 2003 and commenced her hospitality career as a guest services officer at China Hotel, A Marriott Hotel in Guangzhou. Over the next decade, she rose through sales and marketing management roles at Renaissance Shanghai Yangtze Hotel, Sofitel Forebase Chongqing and Sofitel Shanghai Sheshan Oriental. In 2014, She joined the Hyatt family as Sales & Marketing Director at Hyatt Regency Qingdao before moving to Grand Hyatt Shanghai as Sales & Marketing Executive Assistant Manager, then Hyatt Regency Shanghai Chongming as Hotel Manager.

    Humane care is an important part of Hyatt company culture and has become a solid tenet for Ms. Karazawa. With a strategic marketing vision, she successfully leads the brilliant associates of Hyatt Regency Shanghai Global Harbor and boosts the hotel’s appeal.
