AmCham Shanghai Sustainability and Corporate Responsibility Committee is pleased to invite you to a workshop on Sustainability and Business Value Creation on Tuesday, July 23, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., in the AmCham Shanghai Conference Room.


The workshop aims to offer actionable strategies for integrating sustainability into core business functions and developing unique relationships with key value chain partners, including suppliers, customers, and consumers. The discussion will focus on driving long-term business growth while simultaneously creating social and environmental benefits.


What to Expect:

· Insights into the latest trends and best practices in sustainability from the value chain perspective.

· Practical case studies demonstrating the successful integration of sustainability into business operations and up-and-downstream value chains.

· Strategies for creating business value through sustainable practices.

· Opportunities to engage with industry experts and peers in a panel discussion and Q&A session.


This workshop is designed for chamber members in sustainability, corporate communication, corporate affairs, supply chain, and general management to explore the intersection of sustainable practices/programs and long-term business growth, gaining insights from industry practitioners and case studies.

    Currently serves as a Director of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), Vice Chairman of the China CSR Think Tank, and Vice President of the Shanghai Foreign Investment Association. Dr. Lv has held leadership positions in the China region for numerous Fortune 500 multinational corporations and large family enterprises, including President of Greater China Affairs for EssilorLuxottica, President of The Weir Group in China, Global Partner at Brunswick Group, Executive Vice President of China for RGE Group, Chairman of Asia Symbol (Shandong) Pulp and Paper Co., Ltd., and Acting President of BHP China. He has made significant contributions to these companies in promoting localized business strategies, business growth, organizational development, continuous improvement, social responsibility, employee development, corporate branding, risk management, and sustainable development in China. Additionally, as an experienced and highly accomplished corporate coach, business mentor, and personal growth coach, Dr. Lv has helped numerous entrepreneurs and business leaders surpass their limits and achieve success. He has assisted their companies in finding strategic breakthroughs for growth and development and paths to value creation.

    Director of Sustainability and Social Impact at Coca-Cola Beverages (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.

    Mr. Oliver Yang is the Director of Sustainability and Social Impact at Coca-Cola Great China & Mongolia. He is responsible for sustainability strategy planning. He drives cross-function collaboration to ensure effective implementation of the ESG agenda across the Coca-Cola system in Great China. Mr. Yang works closely with internal and external stakeholders. He contributes to the company’s holistic approach to stakeholder engagement, corporate social responsibility, sustainability, and social impact practice.

    Before joining Coca-Cola, he was deputy secretary-general and board director of the Shanghai Soong Ching Ling Foundation. He was in charge of strategic program development, policy planning, external communication, and policy advocacy. Mr. Yang focused on stakeholder management and facilitated collaboration between multinationals and the foundation on CSR, sustainable development, social impact, and shared value creation.

    Mr. Yang had served as CSR and Government Relations Manager of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai for more than seven years. Mr. Yang joined the Chamber in 2005 and led the Chamber’s robust Corporate Social Responsibility program. Through initiatives in community outreach, environmental stewardship, employee health & safety, corporate governance, public healthcare, NGO capacity building, and public-private partnerships, the AmCham Shanghai CSR program has been an effective platform for different stakeholders to communicate and collaborate.

    Mr. Yang works closely with the central and local government, Chinese think tanks, Chinese and international NGOs, and companies to smooth communication channels and cement the relations between government authorities and the business community through strategic and institutional approaches.

    Mr. Yang has expertise in the Information Technology sector. He was an IT project manager at BP, Jardine Matheson, and Shanghai Clinic Medical Center. Mr. Yang holds a Bachelor’s degree in Logistics from Shanghai Maritime University and a Master’s Degree in Financial Management from Vlerick Business School, Belgium.

His initiatives have supported government projects for poverty alleviation and rural revitalization, with the Rural Doctor Project impacting 78 counties and 3 million families, earning multiple awards and honors. Zhang's leadership in mobilizing resources during the Covid-19 pandemic resulted in substantial donations and support to over 40 countries. He also established a CSR participation mechanism within Fosun, engaging employees in social service and contributing to Fosun International's ESG rating upgrade.

    ESG Management for Operational Assets at GLP

    Yasmine Li holds a master's degree from New York University and is a member of the National Honor Society for Social Work in the United States. She boasts a robust background in ESG management, with expertise spanning both consulting and in-house corporate ESG practices.

    Presently, Yasmine is responsible for the ESG management for operational assets in China at GLP. Prior to her tenure at GLP, Yasmine contributed to a federally funded NGO in New York, where she was instrumental in identifying and developing impactful public welfare projects. Additionally, her career includes a stint at a consulting firm where she specialized in crafting and implementing sustainable development strategies for corporate clients.
