Dr. Paul G. Clifford is External Associate, Lau China Institute, King’s College London and Honorary Fellow, Foreign Policy Association. He is also President, Paul G. Clifford & Associates.

His most recent book is China’s Logistics. From Laggard to Innovator. A Chinese language edition has also just been published. His other works include The China Paradox, covering 40 years of economic reforms.

He first lived in China 1973-74 as an exchange student. He later worked in China as a corporate banker, in strategy consulting, and with Cisco Systems where he drove strategy on smart and connected cities. He has advised Chinese state-owned and private enterprises as well as multinational firms in China across a wide range of sectors including logistics. He was elected as Executive Director of the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing.

He was educated at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, where he received a Ph.D., and at Peking University. He is fluent in Chinese.

An experienced industry professional with over 22 years working in the logistics and supply chain solution industry. Jarrod is currently the Chief Business Development Officer for East Asia at Yusen Logistics, a member of the NYK Group. He is also responsible for their Supply Chain Solutions division in East Asia.

Jarrod has held senior leadership positions in Japan, Singapore, and the USA, including over 16 years at NYK Line container division.

Jarrod received his MBA in Supply Chain Logistics from Rutgers University in 2007.

Jarrod graduated from Washington & Jefferson college, and has his roots in western Pennsylvania.
