To enforce the PRC Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL), the Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) released the final version of the Standard Contract Clauses for Cross-Border Transfer of Personal Information (the SCC) and the Measures for the SCC (the Measures) in late February. The long-awaited regulation will come into effect from 1 June 2023. SCCs, along with CAC-led security assessment and certification by licensed professional institutions, indicate a full establishment of PIPL implementation. Meanwhile, it has required stricter requirements for HR management of cross-border personal data transfer.

AmCham Shanghai's Human Resources Committee will host a session to provide a close reading of SCC and HR best practice sharing on April 26, 9:30 am-11:00 am at the AmCham Shanghai office.

The session will feature legal experts who will provide legal perspectives on PIPL and SCC. In addition, HR leaders will share how they manage compliance risk related to PIPL and how SCC implementation will impact HR management.

Agenda:

9:30-9:35 am: Opening & Introduction

9:35-10:05 am: Presentation by lawyers

10:05-10:35 am: Panel discussion

10:35-11:00 am: Audience Q&A

If you have any PIPL and SCC-related questions you would like to hear answered on the session, please email them to bing.chen@amcham-shanghai.org.
