Multinational companies have always monitored geopolitical issues, but most often they do so from their global headquarters. The unique geopolitical tensions in today's business world are going beyond the concern of headquarters and hitting all of us at the operational level in China.

AmCham Shanghai Manufacturers' Business Council will host a session on Wednesday, May 17 from9:00 – 10:30 am featuring two China experts — Kent D. Kedl, Partner and Head of Greater China and North Asia at Control Risks, and Diane Long, Managing Director at Xanadu Enterprise Shanghai — to help our factory general managers better understand and handle these issues.

This session will address the following:

· What makes this period of geopolitical tensions unique from those in the past?

· If such tensions do have an impact on business operations, where will companies likely be hit?

· How can companies best understand their geopolitical risks and monitor developments?

· What are some best practices for geopolitical risk mitigation that companies are using?
