Albert leads the site feasibility and concept, master planning and design management of developments at Shui On Land. Beginning with Shanghai Xintiandi in 1997, he led the planning and design of “Tiandi” large scale mixed-use communities in Shanghai, Wuhan, Chongqing, Foshan and other cities in China over the last 20+ years. These developments have received multiple international accolades including ULI Global, ULI Asia Pacific Awards for Excellence, awards from the World Bank, AIA, MIPIM, CTBUH, plus various national and local levels awards. All communities received LEED neighborhood Gold level certifications as well as various building level certifications. Shanghai Xintiandi Community also received world’s first WELL Community certification in 2019. Albert is a member of Sustainable Development Executive Committee at the company. Before working for Shui On Land, Albert’s employment includes Cooper Robertson and Partners, and New York City Department of Design and Construction.

Albert is a ULI Global Trustee and chaired the ULI Mainland China Council from 2017-2019. He co-chairs the China Real Estate Design Competition jury, is also jury member of ULI and CTBUH awards. Albert is an Adviser of the HKUST Guangzhou Campus Development Board, and a member of the Board of Directors of American Institute of Architects Shanghai Chapter. Albert received his Master degrees from Columbia University, U.C. Berkeley, the Stern School at NYU, and his B. Arch from University of Minnesota.

Alex considers the best part of his job to be working closely with health clients to develop the best possible design solution—a passion for healthcare design with its ability to have a positive effect on healing. He has the strong knowledge and design skills necessary to create large, complex health facilities in a variety of project types.

With 28 years design experience, Alex’s projects are located throughout the world, with a special concentration on Greater China and the rest of Asia. With a diverse background in healthcare planning and design, he focuses on the client’s overall goals and objectives creating a design that meets current and future needs.

Yan-Ping Wang is the Founder and CEO of Intelligence Driven Controls (iDRC), which provides Teramesh, a wireless building automation system leveraging IoT and AI technology to optimize energy use and comfort in buildings, resulting in a 50% reduction in HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) energy cost and a 10x increase in facility management efficiency with an ROI of over 500% for building landlords.

James Macdonald was appointed as Head of Savills Research, China in 2007. He has the overall responsibility to ensure the successful delivery and expansion of Savills research capabilities as well as to consolidate and integrate all research activities across mainland China. The research team covers a wide range of cities and assets classes.

The increased capabilities of the Research department will support the continuing expansion of the company in one of the world’s fastest developing nations, securing Savills position as a dominant player in the China real estate market.

As the head of research James has spoken at numerous conferences hosted by PERE, REIW, MIPIM and ULI as well as various other chambers of commerce and investment banks, he is also frequently cited in both the trade press and mainstream business press.

Originally from London, UK, James has lived and worked in Shanghai since 2002. Since joining Savills that year, James has been actively involved in the growth of the Research department, advising and liaising with numerous international and domestic developers, and financial institutions.

Driven by the belief that change begins with a single step, Richard has spent the last 15 years in Asia working to engage, inspire, and equip those around him to understand their power to leverage innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership to solve "the big" challenges cities face.

Currently, as the Managing Director of Collective Responsibility, Executive Director of HandsOn China, and a Visiting Professor of Sustainability at the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), Richard is focused on building platforms that promote long term organizational capacity to address the economic, environmental, and social hurdles that China faces as the country’s economic growth accelerates.
