AmCham Shanghai is pleased to invite you to the first session of this year’s CSR Impact Series: Increasing Your Business Social Impact on Wednesday, March 29, from 10:00–12:00, in the AmCham Shanghai Conference Center.

This workshop features a talk by sustainability expert Michael Norton. Mr. Norton, known as the, “Godfather of social innovation in Europe”, will provide strategies and case studies on how corporations can positively impact their local community while also continuing to generate a profit. After the presentation, participants will be divided into small groups to work with facilitators to closely examine case studies and share views on this issue.

    Callum Douglas is Corporate Responsibility (CR) Director for PwC China and Hong Kong, and leads the strategy across PwC’s four areas of CR focus – responsible business, diversity and inclusion, environmental stewardship and community engagement. His role involves working with the firm’s CR committee to drive PwC’s CR programs, which range from community volunteering, internal environmental performance and employee relations. In 2011, Mr. Douglas became responsible for CR across the Asia Pacific. Currently, he is also Co-chair of AmCham Shanghai’s Business Council for Sustainability and Responsibility. Prior to joining PwC, Mr. Douglas worked with Grassroots NGOs in capacity building and corporate partnership roles. He had worked with the United Nations and the Beijing Communist Youth League on a Beijing Olympics related project aimed at strengthening volunteering for development in China.

    Michael Norton is the Honorary Director and a Trustee of Center for Innovation in Voluntary Action. In his early career, he also founded the Directory of Social Change, the UK’s leading agency providing information, training and support to voluntary organizations, and YouthBank UK, which enables young people to act as grant-makers, supporting local projects run by other young people. In 2011, he was made an Adjunct Professor at the Graduate School of Business at the University of Cape Town to assist in the creation of the Bertha Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship. He was also made Philanthropy Instructor at Beijing Normal University.
