Ms. Dan Wang is currently the Chief Economist of Hang Seng Bank (China), responsible for China-related research, macro forecast, Sino-US relation, and geopolitical risk analysis.

Dan previously worked for the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) where she spent 5 years as China Chief Analyst, leading forecast and research. Prior to that, she was a postdoc fellow in the Chinese Academy of Sciences as an economist, specializing in agriculture. Dan holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Washington, with a focus on environment and econometrics.

Dr. Liu is an independent economist in China known for his focus on China's economic reform. He is currently the President of the National Affairs Financial Reform Institute. Dr. Yang is the president of Asia Pacific of Aptiv. He works alongside the regional executive team on cross divisional initiativ es and leads the stewardship of Aptiv’s relationships with government and senior customer contacts.

Aptiv started operations in China since 1993, and has established 21 manufacturing facilities and 4 technical centers across China, with more than 40,000 employees. Annual sales revenue in China reached US$4B in 2021.

Dr. Yang started his career with General Motors in 1995 in Warren, Ohio and relocated to China in 2003 to start up connection sy stems operations in Asia. In 2008, he was appointed Managing Director for Delphi Connection Systems in Asia, driving substantial business growth from 2 004 to 2021 and playing a key role in multiple acquisitions with highly successful integration. In 2014, Simon was appointed Delphi China President, di rec ting the overall business in China. In December 2017, with the successful completion of Powertrain Division spin off, Delphi officially became Aptiv. Simon b ecame the president of Aptiv Asia Pacific in January 2018.

Mr. Yang earned his Bachelor of Chemical Engineering and Master of Material Science and Engineering from Tsinghua University in China. He received his Master and Ph.D. of Mechanical Engineering from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Simon also completed the Sen ior Executive Program of Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. He has published 11 research papers in several USA and European science and tec hnology journals.

Kenneth Jarrett is a Senior Advisor at ASG, where he draws on decades of business and diplomatic experience in China and across East Asia to provide perspective and advice to businesses, investors, and other organizations with interest in the region.

Most recently, Mr. Jarrett spent five years as President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. Under his leadership, the Chamber helped hundreds of companies establish and grow their networks in China and navigate operational and regulatory challenges.

Previously, Mr. Jarrett was a distinguished diplomat whose positions included service as Consul General in Shanghai, and as Deputy Consul General in Hong Kong. His 26-year foreign service career also included postings in Beijing, Chengdu, and Singapore. His government roles in Washington, D.C, included serving as Director of Asian Affairs at the White House National Security Council. Following his government service, Mr. Jarrett served as Chairman of Greater China for APCO Worldwide.

Mr. Jarrett is a frequent commentator on the business environment in China, and he has been quoted in outlets including Bloomberg, the Economist, the Financial Times, the Los Angeles Times, the New York Times, and the Wall Street Journal, among others.

He is the recipient of the Magnolia Award (Silver) from the Shanghai government and is a member of the National Committee for U.S.-China Relations.

Mr. Jarrett earned an M.A. in East Asian Studies from Yale University and an M.A. in National Security Studies from the National War College. He received a B.A. in History from Cornell University. He speaks Mandarin Chinese.

For 15 years, she led KARL STORZ China to successfully launch its portfolio of over 17,000 products, overseeing overall growth of more than 50 times. The company held first place in market share in the Chinese rigid endoscope field for eight consecutive years, with a market share of 48% in 2021. Mrs. Mei Yang-Mille oversaw the introduction of the latest concepts and technologies in minimally invasive surgery (MIS) into China, promoted the development of China's MIS industry and brought new surgical treatment options to Chinese surgeons and patients.

Yang-Mille has not only established several lead MIS training centers across China, but has also bridged and promoted international academic cooperation and exchange projects.

Eric Zheng became the President of AmCham Shanghai in 2022. He has been involved in the Chamber for over 15 years as a member, committee leader, Board member, Board treasurer, Board secretary, and Board vice chair, and Board chair (2018 and 2019).

Eric brings a unique combination of private and public sector experiences to the presidency. He worked in management consulting with PwC in the U.S. and later served for the U.S. Department of Commerce as the principal commercial officer at the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou. Eric had a long career with AIG in Greater China and held a series of positions that culminated in his service as CEO of AIG China. He then chaired the board of Heng An Standard Life Insurance Company.

In volunteer roles, Eric serves as the Greater China regional chair of the Committee of 100 and as a board director of Shanghai Make-A-Wish Charity Foundation. The Shanghai municipal government has granted Eric its Magnolia Gold Award in recognition of his significant contributions to the city. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Fudan University and an MBA from Georgetown University.

Sarah has practiced law in both US and China, and has ample experience in healthcare, retail and merger& acquisition. She was the General Counsel of AstraZeneca China before being promoted to the current role. Prior to that, she was the General Counsel of Essilor Greater China and Legal Director of Gap, Inc. Before moving to in-house, Sarah worked at DLA Piper in its Chicago and Shanghai office, serving multinational and industry-diversified clients on a wide range of legal issues including REITs fund formation, overseas real estate investment, FDI, and international arbitration.

Sarah obtained a bachelor in law degree from East China University of Politics and Law, as well as a JD and an LLM degree from Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago. Sarah is a licensed lawyer in New York and Illinois and is Chinese Bar qualified. Recently Sarah was appointed as the Vice-Chair of the Shanghai Bar Association, Foreign Lawyer Committee, dedicated to promote the presence of foreign lawyers in Shanghai and foster idea exchange between foreign and Chinese lawyers.

Based in China since 1986, he globally leads McKinsey’s Cities Special Initiative and co-chairs the non-profit think tank Urban China Initiative, a collaborative project of Tsinghua University and McKinsey & Company that aims to develop and implement solutions to China’s urbanization challenge.

As an expert on energy, sustainability, and economic master planning, Jonathan has advised national and local governments in Asia, Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Americas on topics including improving the foreign investment environment, energy policy, and economic development. Lesli Ligorner has more than 25 years of experience serving clients on a wide range of labor and employment matters, with more than 15 of those years spent on the ground in China. She advises a broad range of financial services, telecommunications, media, technology, life sciences, and general manufacturing clients on the full suite of employment issues in China, including hiring and termination, discrimination and harassment policies, training, and investigations. Lesli is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey.

Lesli leads the labor and employment practice in mainland China and handles cross-border employment matters and internal investigations across the Asia-Pacific region. She advises on global mobility and immigration, leaves of absence, wage and hour laws, intellectual property protection, and unionization and collective bargaining.

Lesli’s practice further includes compliance counseling and training covering establishment and enforcement of company policies, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and local anticorruption compliance, export controls, data protection and cybersecurity issues, and employment and anticorruption due diligence in mergers and acquisitions and related internal investigations.

Kent D. Kedl is a Partner and head of Control Risks’ Greater China and North Asia practice. He is responsible for all of Control Risks’ work across mainland China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, the Koreas and Mongolia. Kent has been living and working in China for more than 35 years.

Kent has consulted with multinational and Asia-based corporations on a range of risk and strategy issues, such as M&A and organic growth strategy, crisis management, compliance, and strategic and organisational development programmes.

Before joining Control Risks, Kent was a partner of Technomic Asia, a market strategy and M&A consulting firm.

Kent has worked as a journalist and is a frequent contributor to Asia-based media outlets. Kent has a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in East Asian studies from the University of Minnesota. He also completed graduate studies in journalism and mass communication at the China Times Centre for Mass Media and Social Studies.

Fred holds a degree in electrical engineering, a master’s degree in production engineering, and he has attended several business management and marketing courses at universities in Brazil, Europe and the US.

Ted has spent over 25 years working in China for a variety of industrial companies including diecasting, EMI shielding, electronic connectors, and plastic fasteners. He has a wealth of
experience in starting and running China manufacturing facilities as well as integrating these facilities into a company’s global sales and supply chain.

Ted speaks fluent Mandarin and can offer perspectives on China management from either an entrepreneurial or multinational viewpoint. Ted holds an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago
and a B.A. in East Asian Studies from George Washington University.
