AmCham Shanghai’s Automotive Committee invites you to our next member’s only roundtable event on Evolutionary, Revolutionary, and Disruptive Trends in China’s Auto Industry on April 18th from 12:00 – 13:30 at the AmCham Shanghai Conference Center.

We are pleased to welcome Huu-Hoi Tran, Head of Automotive from KPMG China to give an overview of their recent Global Automotive Executive Survey 2017, as well as Dr. Liang Cheng, Technical Sales Lead from Johnson Controls (Power Solutions, JCI) New Energy Battery R&D Center Shanghai and Jun Wu, Automotive Software Business Leader APAC, Honeywell Transportation Systems to discuss how electrification and smart car software is changing the status quo in China.

    Technical Sales Lead at Johnson Controls New Energy Battery R&D Center Shanghai

    Dr. Liang Cheng is Technical Sales Lead of Johnson Controls (Power Solutions, JCI) New Energy Battery R&D Center Shanghai.
    He started his career at Honeywell as electrochemistry engineer in the area of supercap electrolyte and Li-ion cell cathode materials in 2008, working both in materials R&D and application.
    From 2010 to 2016 in Johnson Controls, Dr. Cheng worked as Sr. System Engr. Lab Leader and Engineering Manager, acting as a key role in engineering of JCI Advanced Power Solutions China, managing NEV battery Mechanical Design, Thermal Simulation, Cell and Product Validation. In 2016, he was elected to be the Tech Sales Lead, overall leading the Li-ion technical sales activities for APAC.
    Dr. Cheng has authored and co-authored over 13 technical papers published on academic journals, e.g. ECS, JMC, JPS, AM, CM and other academic conferences, and holds 5 CN patents. He holds a Ph.D of Science degree in Physical-Chemistry from Fudan University China, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the same university.

    Huu-Hoi Tran is a KPMG advisory partner with over 20 years of professional experience in the consulting industry, with strong advisory experience in Strategy and Operations Advisory for large MNCs, SOEs and POEs around the globe. Huu-Hoi has worked on projects across Europe and Asia, including countries such as Germany, Greece, Russia, UAE, Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, and China.

    Hoi is Head of the KPMG Automotive Sector in China and member of the KPMG Global Automotive Steering Group. He is also an active speaking guest at Chambers in China. Hoi is leading the Digital Auto and New Mobility initiatives at KPMG China.

    Automotive Software Business Leader, APAC at Honeywell Transportation Systems

    Jun Wu has joined Honeywell as APAC Business Leader for Automotive Software business since September, 2016.

    Prior to joining Honeywell, Jun has 15years experience in auto industry, including 11 years’ experience in software of auto industry working in AVL and Bosch ETAS. Most recently, Jun was Director OES (Original Equipment Service) in Bosch Automotive Aftermarket for Greater China. Jun began his career in Huawei Technologies as Technical Engineer in 1999.

    Jun holds both PhD and Master degree in Vehicle Engineering and received EMBA from CEIBS in 2011.
