What's the connection between storytelling and leadership? Join us for a full-day workshop as Jeff Tan, founder and Chief Trainer at REV Training and Coaching, shares what you must know to become a storyteller at work, and an influential leader!
This workshop will cover ways to make you a better influential leader with storytelling skills.

Seesion Outline

Three key areas are covered:

1. The Knowledge
• Discover what’s a useful story in a business context, and which part of the brain needs and wants this in an influential situation (we use proof from Neuroscience here)
• Understand which influential situations need a story and which don’t, (while it’s ideal to always use stories to influence, we tell you when it’s most effective)

2. The Tools
• Understand and practice the most effective way to tell your story to influence so that the correct part of your listener’s brain is activated
• Understand and practice a tool to handle any objections to your influence or storytelling efforts and win trust
• Understand and practice how to pull out a useful story to influence from your collection of stories

3. The Stories to Use
• Build a very useful collection of stories to use at the right time (stories don’t pop up in your head magically when you need it, so we’ll build yours at the workshop). This part, i.e.,
building a collection of stories before you need it, is essential, vital, and crucial, yet it’s often ignored!

Warning! If you intend to come and just listen passively, this workshop is not for you!

But if  you want to leave the workshop with a collection of stories to use, and the ability to do it the very next day, then you must attend! This means you’ll understand what the tools are, and practice quite a lot during the workshop so that new storytelling to influence habits begin to form in you.

Who should attend?
All managers of any level who need to influence!

    Jeff Tan

Jeff Tan hails from sunny Singapore and has called Shanghai home for the last 10 years. He has a very deep interest in all things related to communications, leadership, influence, and how the brain works. What’s really interesting is that he learned how NOT to use stories to influence at his previous job, which lasted 26 years as a helicopter pilot with the Singapore Air Force. Jeff was told to influence using only facts, logic and rational arguments (sound familiar?)
