Please note venue has been changed to AmChan Shanghai Conference Room

AmCham Shanghai invites you to join us for a presentation and panel discussion on Sport Industry Management on Thursday, March 30 from 11:30-13:30 at the AmCham Shanghai Conference Room.

The sports industry plays a strategic and critical role to China’s development in terms of GDP growth and public health management. In recent years, exciting progress has been made at the state level presenting tremendous opportunities for both public and private sectors in China. With that, 300,000 new jobs are being created each year up to 2020. However the industry is facing the pressing issue of a lack of good management talent. The U.S. is the world leader in the commercialization of sports. With several of the world's most successful sports leagues, the largest and most sophisticated sports broadcast and media networks, the U.S. has pioneered sports as a ubiquitous, mainstream activity which has been seamlessly integrated into the lives of hundreds of millions of Americans.

What can we learn from the U.S.? How exciting is it to work with leading sports organizations such as NBA, IMG, or PGA Tour? What does it take to succeed as a top talent in the sports business? Join AmCham Shanghai on Thursday, March 30th from 11:30am to 1:30pm at the Portman Ritz Carlton Hotel. We will have presentations from Professor Vince Gennaro, Director of The Sport Management Program from Columbia University; Professor William Squires, Professor at Columbia University and former President of the U.S. Facility Management Association; Rouven Kasper, Managing Director of FC Bayern Munich China, Wenhao Song, CEO of SPORiT and Mark Fischer, President, Marketing & Strategy at OCEANS Sports & Entertainment Inc.
