The AmCham Shanghai Sustainability & Corporate Responsibility Committee is delighted to invite you to an event dedicated to exploring business strategies for coping with the requirements of the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), scheduled for Tuesday, November 5, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in the AmCham Shanghai conference room.


The CBAM is a pivotal topic in the realm of sustainability and global trade. As countries strive to meet climate goals and reduce carbon emissions, CBAM has emerged as a crucial tool for balancing industrial growth with environmental sustainability on a global scale. This event brings together industry experts to explore the mechanisms and implications of CBAM, its role in fostering a greener economy, and the challenges and opportunities it presents for businesses.


Our featured guest speakers include Ellen Wu, General Manager at RESET Carbon Environment Management, and two experts at PwC: Silina Zhong, Partner of the Transfer Pricing Department, and Allen Zhang, Director of Sustainability team. They will share their insights on how to help businesses track and accurately capture carbon emission data throughout the entire product production process.

    Ellen is an impact investor turned General Manager at Reset Carbon, an environmental consulting firm with 14+ years of experience in Asia helping enterprises make meaningful carbon footprint reduction. She has devoted her time in helping many Fortune 500 businesses reduce their global carbon footprint and meeting their carbon neutral goals through executing on the ground with the businesses and their value chain. She drives value by leveraging the strengths of diverse backgrounds and creating long term strategic and sustainable plan. She was previously a Chief Information Officer at a Manulife-Sinochem Life Insurance with 2 decades of experience in technology and data and had worked internationally across New York, London, Hong Kong and Shanghai.

    Ms. Zhong Siliang is currently a partner in the Transfer Pricing Department at PwC China. Since joining PwC in 2003, she has focused on providing transfer pricing services and has experience working in PwC's Irvine, USA office.

    Ms. Zhong has extensive experience in transfer pricing risk and opportunity assessment, transfer pricing policy planning, country-by-country reporting, preparation of transfer pricing documentation for multinational groups, transfer pricing audit defense, application for advance pricing arrangements, and assisting clients in adapting to the new transfer pricing regulatory environment.

    She provides comprehensive transfer pricing services for multinational companies across different industries, preparing transfer pricing compliance documentation for hundreds of firms, including several that rank among the top 20 of the China 500 enterprises; assisting a well-known British luxury car manufacturer in applying for bilateral advance pricing arrangements; offering ongoing transfer pricing services to several well-known U.S. companies, deeply involved in pricing formulation and execution monitoring related to various related-party transactions with overseas affiliates and domestic joint venture partners; assisting multiple enterprises in applying for bilateral advance pricing arrangements and conducting transfer pricing audit defenses; and helping startups establish a comprehensive transfer pricing system and related-party transaction framework that covers research and development, overseas sales, domestic procurement, and intellectual property layout throughout the entire value chain.

    Mr. Allen Zhang is the Director of PwC China's Sustainability team, excels at harnessing technology to deliver value to clients. His 17-year career has equipped him with expertise in software development, architecture design, project management, and corporate digital transformation data governance. He is the visionary behind the PwC Emissions Tracker, overseeing its development from concept to deployment.

    As the driving force behind PwC China's ESG digital product development, Allen has successfully led the development of numerous impactful tools, including the Emissions Tracker, ESG reporting tool, and Responsible Investment Toolkit and Analytics (RITA).

    Allen's leadership has been pivotal in deploying the PwC Emissions Tracker across a range of industries. His notable accomplishments include:
    1. Leading a team to successfully launch the Emissions Tracker for a leading automotive parts manufacturer.
    2. Overseeing the implementation of the Emissions Tracker for a multinational environmental governance firm.
    3. Supervising the deployment of the Emissions Tracker for a distinguished Japanese metal company.
    In addition, Allen has spearheaded initiatives that have assisted over 50 listed companies in deploying PwC's ESG reporting tool.
