AmCham Shanghai's Marketing & Media Committee invites you to a panel discussion on "China Marketing Outlook: Priorities and Trends in 2022" on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, from 10:00 - 11:30 am via Zoom webinar.


Speakers with rich experience in diverse marketing fields from e-commerce and social & digital to PR & communications will dive deep into the key issues affecting marketing in China today. The session will place the key marketing trends for 2022 within the context of the latest economic priorities and consumer trends, and also explore how the current COVID-19 situation and pandemic control measures will impact marketing for the rest of 2022 and how brands and agencies need to adapt.


The panel will introduce a range of topics including:

- The macro-economic landscape and business sentiment

- E-commerce channels and strategies

- Metaverse and the virtual world

- and other key trends in 2022

    He has worked in roles across planning, buying, strategy, and content. With experience across FMCG, Luxury, Fashion, Tourism, Retail, Automotive, and Banking brands, he has an unstoppable curiosity about how consumers think and the challenges of brand growth in the dynamic Chinese market.

    Clients have included L’Oréal, Coca-Cola, Ferrero, ABInbev, Mondelez, Intel, Burberry, BMW / Mini, Shiseido, Air NZ, Philips, Airbnb, Microsoft, Diageo, Beiersdorf, Expedia and Mastercard.

    Before joining Publicis Groupe, Richard was leading strategy and solutions for Dentsu China’s media brands, and previously was head of the strategy for Carat across the APAC region.

    Andrea is an award-winning digital strategist and the CEO of Adiacent China, a technology marketing company in Shanghai. Adiacent is part of VAR Group, an Italian-listed digital transformation company with over 2bn EUR in revenue.

    He has lived 15 years in China, whose majority he spent working with the country’s evolving digital landscape. Prior to Adiacent, he was a founding member of the APAC social media team at Ogilvy, a researcher of Chinese social media at Leiden University, and a journalist for CNN and China Daily.

    A regular member of the Campaign Asia Digital A-List, he speaks at public events, business schools and management trainings globally. He is an Effie Asia jury member and content consultant and trainer at the Alibaba Global Ecommerce Talent program among others.

    Andrea was born in Prato, Italy is an Italian-British dual-national, and is fluent in written and spoken Mandarin Chinese.
