As we enter 2021, the question of what the future of work looks like amidst an ongoing global pandemic is more important than ever before. Many people around the world have been forced to switch to remote work, disrupting and transforming the workplace environment. This has posed myriad challenges at all levels of management. Businesses have scrambled to establish new remote workforce models, and struggle to maintain comparable levels of efficiency, productivity, and team cohesion with on-site work. Employee health is attacked from all sides, from the physical threat of contracting COVID-19 to the mental stress of sustained isolation and heightened limitations. In addressing these challenges, among others, technology has offered a variety of solutions to ensure that employees can still work productively from home. Given the continued advancement of technological tools and capabilities, there is a large possibility that these innovations are here to stay and will become a part of the post-pandemic "new normal".

Through the lenses of productivity and employee wellness, this seminar will address how corporations can better leverage startup technology during the work-from-home era. We will analyze different methods aimed at improving engagement and increasing productivity amongst employees. Furthermore, we will discuss the importance of investing in employee wellness for corporations, especially in the digital age. The panel discussion will feature guest speakers from SOSV's portfolio companies, who will bring their insights and professional expertise on how companies can achieve employee wellness and increased productivity.

We will discuss the future of work under the following topics:

  • Importance of employee wellness
  • Employee wellness in the digital era
  • Future work trends
  • Utilizing startup technology to take the lead in the work-from-home era
