One of the Shanghai government's key development goals is to build a science and technology innovation center with global influence. To further this goal, it released the "25 Measures of Science and Technology Reform" in March 2019 to provide a framework for how Shanghai reduce administrative bottlenecks and encourage innovation. Since then it has released a series of implementing regulations and policies that can benefit American technology companies including a regulation on pushing forward the construction of Shanghai into an innovation hub in January 2020. The regulation will take effect from May 1.
To provide members with more information on Shanghai's science and technology innovation policy, AmCham Shanghai has invited Mr. Hao Fang, Chief, Division of Policy, Regulation and Innovation System Construction and Ms. Shangyan He, Chief, Division of International Cooperation at the Shanghai Municipal Science and Technology Commission for a briefing on June 16 from 14:00-16:00 pm at the AmCham Shanghai Infinitus Tower Office.
