Born in May 1969, Mr. Hu is from Nanjing, Jiangsu Province with Han nationality. In April 1991, he joined the Communist Party of China and started his career in August 1991. He holds an on-job postgraduate degree and a doctorate.
Since September 1987, he studied industrial electric automatization in Jiangsu Institute of Technology; Since August 1991, he was an officer of the Real Estate Department and Planning& Construction Department of Nanjing New&High Technological Development Parent Company; Since February 1996, he was a section member of the Public Utility Division of Nanjing New&High Technology Industry Development Zone Administration Committee; Since January 1998, he was the deputy director of the Public Utility Division of Nanjing New&High Technology Industry Development Zone Administration Committee; Since November 2000, he was the subprefect of Jiangpu county; Since July 2002, he was the deputy mayor of Pukou district (during the period from September 2001 to November 2004, he studied public management in Nanjing University and acquired a master degree in public management); Since June 2006, he was a member of the standing committee of Pukou District Committee and the executive deputy mayor of Pukou district; Since July 2010, he was a member of the standing committee of Pukou District Committee, the executive deputy director and the deputy secretary of Party Committee of Nanjing New&High Technology Industry Development Zone Administration Committee, and the general manager of Nanjing New&High Technological Development Parent Company; Since June 2011, he was the deputy secretary and the acting district mayor of Qinhuai District Committee; Since March 2012, he was the deputy secretary and the district mayor of Qinhuai District Committee (during the period from September 2005 to September 2013, he studied political theories as an on-job postgraduate in Nanjing University and acquired a PhD in laws); Since July 2014, he was the secretary and district mayor of Qinhuai District Committee, director and secretary of the Party Leadership Group (concurrent post) of Southern New Town Development and Construction Administration Committee; Since September 2015, he was the commander in chief and the secretary of the Party Committee of the Forward Headquarters of Jiangsu Province Aiding Lhasa City of Tibet; Since October 2015, he was a member of the Nanjing Municipal Government Party Leadership Group, the commander in chief and the secretary of the Party Committee of the Forward Headquarters of Jiangsu Province Aiding Lhasa City of Tibet; Since November 2015, he was a member of the Nanjing Municipal Government Party Leadership Group, the commander in chief and the secretary of the Party Committee of the Forward Headquarters of Jiangsu Province Aiding Lhasa City of Tibet and the vice CPC secretary of Lhasa Municipality; Since February 2016, he was a member of the Nanjing Municipal Government Party Leadership Group, the commander in chief and the secretary of the Party Committee of the Forward Headquarters of Jiangsu Province Aiding Lhasa City of Tibet, the vice CPC secretary and the executive vice mayor of Lhasa Municipality.
He was a representative of the 13rd Party Congress of Jiangsu Province and a representative of the 12nd Jiangsu Provincial People's Congress.

Eric Zheng is Senior Advisor of Shanghai Eastern American Steel Building Co., Ltd. Prior to that he worked for AIG from 2004-2018 in a range of positions, including as President & CEO of AIG Insurance Company China Limited. Eric’s other AIG roles include General Manager of AIG Shanghai Branch and Head of Strategic Planning for AIG China. He joined AIG in Shanghai in 2005 and has played a key role in establishing AIG China in 2007 and then expanding its market position. He joined AIG in Hong Kong in 2004 as part of the China expansion planning team.
Prior to joining AIG, Eric served as principal commercial officer at the U.S. Consulate General in Guangzhou. He spearheaded advocacy efforts for U.S. companies pursuing major business opportunities in China. He also served as an Honorary Governor of AmCham South China. Previously, Eric was a management consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in the U.S., where he advised multinational companies on doing business in China.
An active AmCham Shanghai member since 2005, Eric’s roles include Vice Chair of the Board (2017), Governor (2016-2017 and 2011-2014), Chair of the Nomination & Election Committee for the 2015 Board of Governors (2014), Treasurer (2011-2013), and Chair of the Financial Services Committee (2007-2010).
Eric holds a BA degree from Fudan University in Shanghai and an MBA from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. The Shanghai government has honored him with the prestigious Magnolia Gold and Silver Awards for contributions to the development of Shanghai.
