Eric Zheng is the President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, responsible for supporting over 3,000 member companies in the Yangtze River Delta area. He has previously served on the board of AmCham Shanghai as a member, treasurer, secretary, vice chairman, and 2018-2019 chairman.
Eric had a long career with American International Group (AIG) with a series of executive positions that culminated in his service as President & CEO of AIG China. Before AIG, Eric worked for the U.S. Department of Commerce as the principal commercial officer at the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou. Prior to relocating to China, Eric worked for PwC in the U.S. for many years as a management consultant. Eric holds several volunteer roles including the Greater China regional chair and a board director of the Committee of 100, a non-partisan organization of prominent Chinese Americans.
Ryan Hass is director of the John L. Thornton China Center and the Chen-Fu and Cecilia Yen Koo Chair in Taiwan Studies at Brookings. He is also a senior fellow in the Center for Asia Policy Studies. He was part of the inaugural class of David M. Rubenstein fellows at Brookings, and is a nonresident affiliated fellow in the Paul Tsai China Center at Yale Law School. Hass focuses his research and analysis on enhancing policy development on the pressing political, economic, and security challenges facing the United States in East Asia.
From 2013 to 2017, Hass served as the director for China, Taiwan and Mongolia at the National Security Council (NSC) staff. In that role, he advised President Obama and senior White House officials on all aspects of U.S. policy toward China, Taiwan, and Mongolia, and coordinated the implementation of U.S. policy toward this region among U.S. government departments and agencies. He joined President Obama’s state visit delegations in Beijing and Washington respectively in 2014 and 2015, and the president’s delegation to Hangzhou, China, for the G-20 in 2016, and to Lima, Peru, for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Leaders Meetings in 2016.
Prior to joining NSC, Hass served as a Foreign Service Officer in U.S. Embassy Beijing, where he earned the State Department Director General’s award for impact and originality in reporting, an award given annually to the officer whose reporting had the greatest impact on the formulation of U.S. foreign policy. Hass also served in Embassy Seoul and Embassy Ulaanbaatar, and domestically in the State Department Offices of Taiwan Coordination and Korean Affairs. Hass received multiple Superior Honor and Meritorious Honor commendations during his 15-year tenure in the Foreign Service.
Dan Wang is a director on Eurasia Group's China team, offering strategic insights on China's economic trajectory, policymaking, and global influence. She previously served as the chief economist at Hang Seng Bank China in Shanghai and as an analyst at the Economist Intelligence Unit in Beijing.
A frequent voice in global media, Dan has appeared on CNBC, Bloomberg, and the BBC. She writes a column for FT China. She regularly delivers keynote speeches at government and industry forums and participates in high-level policy discussions worldwide.
Dan holds a doctorate in economics from the University of Washington, with expertise in property rights, environmental economics, and econometrics. She designed and led nationwide surveys on agriculture as a postdoctoral researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
When not analyzing China's economic conditions, Dan is likely singing, hiking, or creating data charts. She has a soft spot for dogs and likes to read physical books—ideally followed by a dip in a Japanese onsen and a cup of hibiscus tea.
Chao Zhang is a seasoned global executive with leadership experiences in multiple countries. Currently he is vice president and general manager for TE China.
Under Chao’s leadership, TE’s businesses have grown significantly in China, not only in revenue but also in technology innovation, manufacturing footprint, as well as local and global customer base expansion. For the past 10+ years, TE has been on the List of Top 100 Shanghai Foreign Invested Companies. TE was also named the “Top Employer” in China in 2023 and 2024.
In addition to TE Connectivity, Chao had held progressive leadership positions with General Electric Company (“GE”) and ExxonMobil. Chao held strategic and operational roles in GE Healthcare, GE Plastics and GE Capital as well as senior leadership positions in GE’s renowned John F Welch Leadership Development Center in New York, known as Crotonville. Chao also served as a senior HR executive for ExxonMobil where he led the HR function for the Global Services Company and Global Staff Functions.

Cherry Zhu is currently president of Dow Greater China. She leads the strategic business growth, market development and financial performance for the region. She also plays a key role enhancing company’s employee experience in Greater China and advancing a culture of inclusion and diversity.
Previously, Cherry was global product director for Dow Consumer Solutions responsible for leading Engineered Materials and Elastomers growth and managing business Profit & Loss.
Zhu joined Dow in 2001 as technical service & development engineer for Engineering Plastics in China. Since 2004, she had taken on various leadership roles, including product manager for glass bonding adhesives in Europe, Asia Pacific commercial director for Dow Automotive Systems, and Asia Pacific product director for Dow Elastomers.
Cherry earned her master’s degree in Polymer Science & Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in 2000 and her MBA from Northwood University, USA in 2010. She stays with her family in Shanghai.
Han Shen Lin is the China Country Head at The Asia Group. Based in Shanghai, Han works in close coordination with TAG’s Washington, DC-based China Practice to lead the firm’s local presence and engagements in China, drawing upon nearly 20 years of in-country experience in China’s financial markets and corporate strategy. In addition to his role at TAG, Han is the Capstone Project Director for the NYU Shanghai MS in Quantitative Finance program and Assistant Professor of Practice in Finance.
Prior to his current positions, Han was the Deputy General Manager of Wells Fargo Bank, China, where he served as Interim Country Manager and a member of the Management Control Committee, which oversaw the bank’s China governance and risk management. Han also led the China Corporate Banking business, which advised Wells Fargo MNC clients on their U.S.-China cross-border strategic financing and trade needs. Earlier bank roles included Asia Financial Institutions Payments Product Sales Manager; Senior Coverage Banker in the China Financial Institutions Group (FIG); and corporate strategic projects analyst.
Han holds advanced degrees, including an MA in International Studies from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, an MS in Global Finance from HKUST-NYU Stern, and an LLM in China Civil and Commercial Law from Fudan University Law School. He completed his undergraduate degree in business (BBA) at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
Han is active in the American Chamber of Commerce, Shanghai, having served on the Board of Governors and as a former Chair of the Chamber’s Financial Services Committee. He previously served in both the U.S. Marine Corps and Peace Corps (RCPV Ukraine). Han lives in Shanghai with his wife and two daughters.

Cheng Wang is the Chairman of AmCham Shanghai Legal Committee and the General Counsel of Express (Hangzhou) Technology Company Limited, a joint venture of American Express in China. Cheng heads the Legal Department of Express Company and oversees all legal matters in its business operations. Prior to joining Express Company, Cheng was the Head of Legal for Greater China of an international investment bank. Under his leadership, the Legal and Compliance Department of the investment bank won the Asia Legal Business Investment Bank In-House Team of the Year for three consecutive years and was included in the GC Powerlist China 2019 by The Legal 500. Cheng holds an LL.M. degree from the University of Michigan Law School and an LL.B. degree from the Law School of Shanghai University of International Business and Economics. He is admitted to the bar of the State of New York and qualified as a lawyer in China. He is a member of the Special Committee of the Shanghai Bar Association. Yanping Cao is the managing partner of Covington’s Shanghai office. She has over two decades of legal experience working at leading international law firms in the U.S. and China as well as serving as the China & APAC General Counsel at GE Healthcare before joining Covington.

Paul Triolo is a Partner at DGA-Albright Stonebridge Group, a founding member of DGA Group, and is based in Washington, D.C.
