The AmCham Shanghai Manufacturers' Business Council will host its 2024 China Manufacturing Outlook on Thursday, March 7, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., in the AmCham Shanghai Conference Room.


We'll begin with an overview of the key trends and challenges facing the manufacturing and supply chain sectors in China this year and beyond. Following the presentations, a group of expert panelists will take a deep dive into the sectors, focusing on both export-oriented and domestic-focused manufacturing.

    Global Senior Vice President of 3M; President at 3M China, Ltd.

    Henry Ding is Global Senior Vice President of 3M and President of 3M China. In this role, Henry is responsible for the leadership and management of 3M’s largest business group – Safety & Industrial Business Group in Greater China Area. He also expands his responsibilities to include the leadership of 3M China, responsible for Corporate Affairs and Enterprise Governance, working to enhance 3M’s overall brand and reputation while driving the Safety and Industrial business growth in Greater China Area.

    Henry joined 3M China in 1993. In 2003, he is appointed as Manager of Electronic and Electrical Markets Group. Since then, Henry assumed increasing leadership responsibilities in leading business teams across diverse markets. He served as Director of Electronics and Energy Business Group, Greater China Area in 2010 and as Director of Industrial and Transportation Business Group, 3M China and 3M Hong Kong in 2014. In 2017, Henry took the post of International Business Director of Industrial Adhesive and Tapes Division and relocated to 3M U.S. headquarters. And most recently Henry was moved to Singapore in 2020, served as Vice President of Industrial Adhesive and Tapes Division, 3M Asia. In December 2021, Henry was appointed Global Senior Vice President of 3M and President of 3M China, and is now based in Shanghai, China.

    Henry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Polymer Chemistry from the Shanghai School of Technology as well as an Executive Business Management Diploma from the China European International Business School (CEIBS).

    Nitesh Jain is Vice President of Manufacturing in Asia Pacific for The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, a role he assumed in May 2022. He is based out of Shanghai, China.

    In his current role, he is responsible for providing overall leadership to Goodyear’s manufacturing footprint in Asia Pacific. In this capacity, he leads all aspects of the manufacturing from driving safety and quality in our plants, delivering productivity and building strategies for modernization and expansion of our footprint. He supports all our business across Asia-pacific by delivering right tire, to the right place, at the right time, and at the right cost.

    Prior to this, Nitesh has served in various capacities in OE Sales, Product Development, Manufacturing and Quality organizations. He spent majority of career working in Goodyear’s North America Business in USA and Canada. He moved to Shanghai in 2018.

    Nitesh is a graduate of Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. Later he finished his PhD from University of Rhode Island, where he majored in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Mechanics.
    Nitesh resides in Shanghai with his wife and two children.

This exceptional performance solidified Jwei's position as the world's largest single-ply cutter manufacturer. A significant contributor to Jwei's global success, Edward has strategically expanded the company's reach, with half of its business originating from overseas markets.

    Edward has over two decades of experience in the industrial manufacturing, before assuming the role of CEO at Jwei, Edward held key leadership positions at renowned companies such as Lectra, Gerber, Esko (a Danaher company), and Domino, serving as the Asia-Pacific President and China General Manager.

    Edward graduated from the Management School at Fudan University in 1992.

His success is founded primarily in wholesale to retail transformation in digital context.

    Benjamin is a logistics and supply chain professional by training. He holds a Master’s degree in logistics and supply chain from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His supply chain domain expertise ranges from planning to delivery, such as logistics network planning and DC operations improvement.
