    Founder & CEO of Automobility Limited & Automotive Committee Chair

    Bill Russo is the Shanghai-based founder and CEO of Automobility Limited, a strategy and investment advisory firm helping its clients to create the future of mobility. His over 35 years of experience include 15 years as an automotive executive in China and Asia and nearly 12 years in the electronics and information technology industries. He has worked as an advisor and consultant for numerous multinational and local Chinese firms in the formulation and implementation of their global market and product strategies. Bill is also currently serving as the chair of the Automotive Committee at the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. In his current role, Bill advises startups, corporations and investors on how to maximize their participation in China’s Automobility Revolution. Bill was previously the regional head of Chrysler in North East Asia.

    Director of Public Policy and Government Affairs at General Motors China

    Mr. Jian Liu Harrison is currently the Director of Public Policy and Government Affairs of General Motors China. In this role, Mr. Liu is responsible for creating and implementing integrated policy strategies with extensive automotive policies, regulations and standards to provide regulatory guidance for corporate strategy and support the business development of GM and its joint ventures in China.

    Before joining General Motors, Mr. Liu has 20 years’ overseas and domestic work experience in telecommunications and semiconductor industries, including Hewlett-Packard, Samsung Electronics, Infineon Technologies, where he held a variety of management positions in R&D, marketing, corporate strategy and government affairs.

    Mr. Liu holds a master’s degree from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and an MBA from University of International Business & Economics.

    Yangyang Zhang is currently the Government Affairs Director at Ford China, responsible for engagement with key government stakeholders, promoting mutual understanding and strategic cooperation between Ford and Chinese governments at all levels, related institutions, industry associations; policy advocacy to achieve favorable business environment to support business growth and operation smooth.

    Yangyang Zhang has been working in auto industry Government Affairs function for more than 17 years, prior to joining Ford China in 2019, she worked for Toyota China, BMW China and Renault China successively, playing a long-term role as a link and bridge between the government and multinational companies.
    Yangyang Zhang graduated from Beijing Foreign Studies University with a bachelor's degree in 2004 and obtained MBA degree from Tsinghua University in 2017. She also studied at Cornell University as an exchange student in year 2016.

    In 1998, Leonardo joined Fiat China and was given increasing responsibilities. In 2007, he was appointed Head of Government Relations & General Affairs.

    In 2012, Leonardo went on an international assignment at the headquarters of FCA US LLC in Michigan, U.S., taking charge of Human Resources processes for the APAC region.

    In 2015 Leonardo came back to China and was appointed Head of External Relations, Policies and Government Affairs of the FCA APAC Region.

    In March 2021, following the merger of FCA and PSA, Leonardo was appointed Member of Executive Committee and Head of Government Affairs of the Stellantis China Region.

    In 2018, the President of the Republic of Italy Sergio Mattarella conferred on Leonardo the honour of “Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia” in recognition of his efforts in promoting ties between China and Italy.

    Mattie Bekink is responsible for the Economist Corporate Network’s China strategy, including programme development and client servicing across China. She also provides support to all Economist Corporate Network programmes worldwide with a China component.

    Ms Bekink has extensive experience in the public, private and policy sectors. Prior to joining The Economist Group, she was the Executive Director of the Fulbright Commission in the Netherlands. She also ran an eponymous consulting business, advising senior executives from businesses, universities and non-profit organisations on China policy, strategy, public affairs, and corporate social responsibility. Ms Bekink practiced law at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, has worked with the US-Asia Law Initiative at NYU Law School and the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative China Program, and served in the legal department at General Motors China.

    Ms Bekink has a BA in International Relations from Stanford University and a JD from the Georgetown University Law Center.

    Mr. Charles Zheng is currently Senior Director of VLSI Engineering at NVIDIA China. Mr. Zheng joined NVIDIA at Santa Clara in 2001, and was assigned to build up NVIDIA Shanghai R&D center in 2005. Under his leadership, his team has delivered multiple generations of GPU and Tegra products through latest technology nodes, and turned into volume production to serve various market segments, including Gaming, AI, Datacenter, and Autonomous Machines, since 2007. Prior to join NVIDIA, Mr. Zheng worked at Avant! to support EDA software, success in business engagement, and deploy design flow for various customers.
    Mr. Charles Zheng has served as Chairman of CDNLive China Committee since 2015, and Chairman of SNUG China Committee since 2016.
    Mr. Charles Zheng received his bachelor and master degree of Physics at Fudan University in 1993, and master degree of Electrical and Computer Engineering at University of Washington in 1997. He also received his EMBA degree at CEIBS in 2012.
