AmCham Shanghai's Manufacturers' Business Council invites you to an event on Manufacturers Outlook 2019: Challenges & Opportunities on Monday, January 21 from 04:00-06:00 pm at the AmCham Shanghai Conference Room.


Global economy (including American and Chinese) is slowing down and the uncertainty of US/China trade frictions continue. What are the challenges and opportunities for western companies in China/Asia?


The session will open with a discussion on overall trends and key updates for manufacturers in China/Asia for the coming year. Meanwhile, four other China/Asia executives in the sector will also share their 2019 expectations and their potential responses in this competitive environment.

    Mr. Chen provides overall leadership to InterChina’s M&A advisory, corporate finance, and investment advisory practice. He is a member of the firm’s Management Committee. He advises global fortune 500, fortune 1000 multinational and Chinese clients on matters related to acquisitions, restructuring and growth strategies.

    Mr. Chen has over 20 years cross border mergers & acquisitions, corporate finance, and strategic planning experience in the infrastructure/logistics, consumer, technology, manufacturing, retail, and financial service sectors. He led and advised over 200 M&A and divestiture transactions, with over 80 successful completions in the North America, Asia Pacific, and European regions. Transaction size range from $50M to $8 billion

    Prior to InterChina, Mr. Chen worked for Price Waterhouse and UPS in the corporate finance and corporate development function. He also has long time collaboration with all leading investment banking firms including Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse, UBS, and JP Morgan. He has extensive experience in deal origination, evaluating cross border acquisitions in a strategic context, and understands the complexity in structuring, valuing, and integrating the acquired companies. Mr. Chen has extensive contacts in the investment community and various government entities. He served as board member of a number of non-profit organizations.

    Mr. Chen serves as the current Chairman of Association for Corporate Growth (ACG) China. Founded in 1954, ACG is a global organization with 56 chapters and over 15,000 members in North and South America, Europe and Asia. In 2015,ACG members firms made $158 billion investments.

Cameron joined Sigmatex in 2012 to drive its Asia expansion, has brought an average of 30% revenue growth per year, defined Chinese industry standards for material traceability, and is implementing a regional supply chain for the automotive industry.

    Prior to joining Sigmatex, Cameron was the Operations Director for China at Tiger Global, an entrepreneurial sourcing and risk management company, and served as Business Manager for a Microsoft JV (Wicresoft).

    Cameron’s expertise focuses on developing strategy in difficult business environments, executing across all functions, turning a business around to profitability, and operational excellence across a global company.

    Cameron received a Graduate Business Certification from the University of Wales, and graduated from the University of Washington with BA’s in Communications and Comparative Religion.
