As China's landscape continues to evolve with costs rising and environmental policies tightening, pressures to the supply chain in China is rising. As a result, many companies are considering shifting away from China to South Asia and Southeast Asia. The AmCham Shanghai Supply Chain Committee will host an event discussing "Southeast Asia: Supply Chain Opportunities and Challenges" on May 31 at AmCham Shanghai Office from 16:00-18:00, followed by a networking cocktail session from 18:00-19:00.

With this transition happening in China, it is an opportunity for other countries to fill this void in supply chain. Industry experts have predicted that the economies of Malaysia, India, Cambodia, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar and Vietnam will inherit China's crown as many international brands have shifted their suppliers from China to the SEA countries.

Speakers will dive deep into how companies are taking the value/supply chain approach, looking at countries in the SEA region from the perspectives of sourcing, manufacturing, logistics, market access, and the overall business environment. They will also evaluate the key advantages and challenges from shift of sourcing from China to SEA.
