"If you really look closely, most overnight successes took a long time."

Steve Jobs

One of the most useful and important management skills to get this "overnight" success is your ability to consistently and constantly coach your team to make a difference!

Learning to coach your team is actually quite simple as long as you have effective HOW TO coaching tips and tools in your managing toolkit.

Here's an important point to remember — you're not a trained professional executive coach, neither do you want to become one! Instead, all you need are the most effective coaching tips and tools to bring out the best in your team.

What exactly are these coaching tips and tools to use?

  • Tip and Tool 1: How to ask simple questions to make your team think of solutions without you telling them what to do.
  • Tip and Tool 2: What to listen for when your team answers your questions.
  • Tip and Tool 3: How to inspire and influence your team to go the extra mile and take the extra step using only very simple statements.
  • Tip and Tool 4: How to "read" each team member's unique core values so that you inspire and influence them with little effort.

Four coaching tips and tools to transform yourself into an inspiring, motivating and effective manager.

Session Outline

Part 1: The science of asking simple questions

Learn and practice how to ask only five very simple standard coaching questions to make your team think both critically and creatively. In addition, you'll learn and practice how to ask other effective questions effortlessly.

Part 2: The science of knowing what exactly to listen out for when speaking with your team

Instead of using "active listening" techniques (what exactly is this anyway?) you'll learn and practice what to listen out for so that you can sit through hours of nonsense and take notice of only what's important to the conversation.

Part 3: The science of inspiring and influencing your team

We'll use Neuroscience to help us understand what others need and want to feel so that it's easier for us to inspire and influence them. It's all down to science, and we'll learn how to "read" others and practice how to use this together with the tools of Part 1 and 2 to inspire and influence others.

    Trainer, coach

Hi, I’m Jeff from sunny Singapore and flew helicopters with the Singapore Air Force for 26 years before making a revolutionary career change in 2006 and coming to Shanghai.

One of the most interesting aspects of being an air force flight instructor was that all we did was coach others to learn to fly, or fly super complex missions. Telling them what to do wasn’t enough-- we had to patiently coach them to success.

Then in Shanghai as a trainer and coach since 2006, I had the privilege of coaching many top leaders from large multi-nationals, and I learned that I had to keep everything super simple with them and really know what to ask, listen out for, and how to inspire and influence them.
