Shanghai Hongqiao Central Business District (CBD) is developing into the new center of Shanghai international trade and has a great prospect of becoming the most important economic strategic center following suit of Lujiazui. As the city's "13th Five-Year Plan" is scheduled to be implemented, 2018 is a critical year for Shanghai's Hongqiao area. Following the precedent of Pudong New Area, Shanghai Hongqiao CBD is setting out to become the new regional growth center. With its geographic advantage, it not only connects the Yangtze River Delta with the world, but it also plays a major role in the economic integration of the Yangtze River Delta.


By 2017, Minhang district in the Shanghai Hongqiao CBD has attracted 2,335 enterprises to establish their presence, 112 of which are corporate headquarters. Among them are Global 500 companies or industry leaders, such as Roche, Shell, LightOn, KSPG, Fiat and Messer. In addition, more than a hundred domestic top-ranked real estate developers and listed companies have decided to locate their headquarters there.

About Shanghai Hongqiao CBD

Located west of downtown Shanghai, Hongqiao Central Business District covers an area of 86.6 square kilometers and is comprised of four districts: Minhang, Jiading, Qingpu and Changning. With the support of Hongqiao transportation hub, transportation in the zone is facilitated by road, air and rail. It is the key development area according to the 13th Five-Year Development Plan released by the Shanghai Municipal Government. Over 54% of the area is situated in Minhang District, including a major function area, as well as the South Hongqiao Area. The major function area of Hongqiao CBD covers 26.3 square kilometers, over half of which is in Minhang. The core area of Hongqiao CBD covers about 3.7 square kilometers, all of which is in Minhang. There are 27 planned projects and 352 buildings in the core area covering 5,879,000 square meters. The investment area is approximately 2,110,000 square meters.


Over the past two years, the core area of Hongqiao CBD has attracted a large number of corporate headquarters and companies of high-end business, modern service and innovative technology.
