What makes writing 'good'? It's a simple question, and like many simple questions, it has a lengthy and complicated answer that won't satisfy any one person. Kristan MacDonald just finished editing a book with 19 chapters. From that experience she drew the following principles, and repeated them to the book author over and over:
1. What is your point?
2. Is it clear?
3. Is it well supported?
These points could apply to anything, anywhere.

AmCham Shanghai Nanjing Center invites you to join in our Women's Leadership Forum to be held on Friday, February 2nd from 13:30-16:00 at the De'Vine酒涡, (#44, Mochou Road East) for the discussion.

“You’re so creative,” and “You’re so organized,” are two things Kristan often hears from others. “You’re standing on my foot,” comes in a close third. Kristan’s skill in writing sprouted in primary school, when she began winning school competitions. It blossomed in high school, when she spent four years on the school newspaper. Her adult life veered into service: first as a full-time volunteer with an international NGO, then as a full-time wife of a widower. She has lived in Nanjing, China, for five years. She has two young sons, ages 4 and 6, and two grown step-children. She is finally finishing her university studies online so she can be an editor—the perfect job to combine her creativity and organization in writing.
