On November 4th, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) adopted the new Anti-Unfair Competition Law, which takes effect on January 1st, 2018. This is the first revision since the law came out in 1993 and is a reaction to new business models and market competition patterns. Highlights include a redefinition of “commercial bribery,” increased protections for trade secrets, rules for the emerging online market, introduction of leniency policies and removing sections that are also in the Anti-Monopoly Law.

AmCham Shanghai is pleased to present briefings by Mrs. Li Yingmin (李英敏), the Deputy Director of the Office for Free Trading, Shanghai Administration Bureau for Industry and Commerce (上海市工商局 公平交易处) and Mr. Zhang Shihai (张士海), Partner at Boss & Young Law Firm on Friday, Dec 8th from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm at AmCham Shanghai Conference Center.

Mrs. Li will brief members on the Law and interpret the revision. Mr. Zhang is an experienced lawyer with expertise in anti-unfair competition area, who also contributed to the revision. He will share best practice for companies' compliance. Both of them will take question from the audience.
