Xiaomi has shipped 70 million smartphones for the first 10 months of this year according to Lei Jun, Xiaomi's founder and CEO. The Chinese budget phone maker, which is looking to ship 100 million handsets this year, achieved a RMB100 billion sales target for this year with revenue of USD 15 billion. Xiaomi today has more than 10,000 employees in mainland China, India, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Brazil, the Philippines, and South Africa.

With even bolder plans to become a global Fortune 500 firm next year, with revenue exceeding RMB1 trillion within the decade, what does the future hold for this Chinese brand and what might it mean for the competition?

    Mr. Hong Feng is Xiaomi's Co-founder and Vice President. Mr. Hong leads the MIUI division at Xiaomi, which develops and maintains Xiaomi's mobile OS and Internet services. He also oversees Xiaomi's financial services.

    MIUI is one of the most popular mobile OS based on Android. It has over 200 million registered users throughout 156 countries with 32 language versions. Besides improving the core user experience, MIUI also provides a comprehensive content distribution ecosystem, including the Mi App Store, Game Center, Mi Music, Mi Video, Mi Reader, and Mi Cloud services. Mr. Hong has been responsible for strategic planning on Mi Financial sectors since 2013.

    To date, tens of millions of users has benefited from and gained access to Internet Payment Services, Loan services, Financial Management Services, and Insurance Services under Mi Financial.

    Before Xiaomi, Mr. Hong held various engineering and product management positions at Google and Seibel. At Google, he was the driving force behind a series of localized products including Google Music, Googled Pinyin Input, Google Calendar, and Google Street View.
