A Day to Make A Difference is about improving the lives of others by giving back to the community. JoAnne (Joni) Bessler, Founder & President at RaiZ and Nadav Ben Simon, General Manager at Taicang Inclusion Factory will share their stories of how they are giving back to the community in novel ways. They will share their stories, including their philosophies of giving, their learnings and their advice for how we might be more creative in what and how we give back. Join us for an afternoon of philanthropic inspiration!

Sarah Köchling
is the Managing Principal of Blossom Innovation, a consultancy that combines strategic advisory with deep cultural and commercial insights and creative approaches to deliver transformative growth. With over 25 years of experience in China and Asia, including brand management roles at P&G China and J&J International, leading innovation practices at consultancies What If and Dragon Rouge and working for several start-ups, she’s known for offering her clients an optimal mix of best-practice experience and entrepreneurial savvy. A Mandarin speaker and lifelong Sinophile, Sarah is a frequent speaker on innovation and China business and is active as a community volunteer, board advisor and mentor. She is co-founder and co-chair of the Women’s Executive Network (WEN) for Amcham Shanghai.

Cindy Hsueh Lin is a Board of Director and ex-CEO at Chunhui Bo’Ai Children’s Foundation. She advocates and leads by example what she calls “Purpose-Driven Leadership”. After 20 years in business and recognized as a global “Rising Talent” at the 2011 Global Women’s Forum, she leaped into not-for-profit sector in 2014. Driven by purpose, she found her calling in April 2014 and took on the CEO role for Chunhui Children’s Foundation, a Beijing registered private foundation with 2,000 full-time staff providing family-like loving care to 11,000 orphaned and left-behind children across 26 provinces and 72 cities in China. Cindy holds a MBA degree from Uni. of Texas at Austin and a BS degree from Uni. of Southern California.

About the Women’s Executive Network: AmCham Shanghai’s Women’s Executive Network (WEN) supports senior female executive members with opportunities to connect with peers across industries and share relevant information through programming and informal networking events. Our mission is to provide our senior female executive members with a platform to advance their leadership, career development and visibility to go the last mile—to the C-suite, the boardroom or both.

    Nadav is a social entrepreneur who has been working with NGO's and governmental sectors in various social programs and sustainability projects. Nadav is specializing in projects that are focusing on the inclusion of the "other" back into the society. In 2011 Nadav initiated projects which aim at supporting elderly African communities through unique agricultural farms; In 2013 Nadav initiated and executed projects for the reintegration of underprivileged youth through employment opportunities and vocational training and from March 2015 he has been managing the first industrial workshop in China for the inclusion of intellectually challenged individuals in Taicang, Jiangsu province.

    Founder & President of RaiZ

    Joni is the Founder and President of RaiZ (睿治), a boutique China-based consultancy created to assist Chinese domestic and global companies, particularly those in the education sector, with their business strategies and cross-cultural human capital development. She is a recognized expert in the development and establishment of educational ventures. Over the past 4 years, Joni also has advised YK Pao School’s President and Board of Governors on the school’s strategic expansion, leadership development, reorganization and the appointment of key new positions including Headmaster and COO. During her 30+-year consulting career with Booz & Co. spanning leadership roles in China, Singapore, Australia and the US, she focused on Asia, working with public and private sector leaders to address their strategic, operational and human capital issues.
