Tim Stratford is managing partner in Covington & Burling LLP’s Beijing office, and is a former Assistant U.S. Trade Representative. Mr. Stratford is the most senior former U.S. trade official working as a member of the U.S. business community in China. Except for the five years he spent in government service (2005-2010), Mr. Stratford has lived and worked continuously in the greater China region since 1982.

Jason Marczak is director of the Latin America Economic Growth Initiative at the Atlantic Council's Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center. He joined the Atlantic Council in October 2013 to help launch the Arsht Center and set the strategic direction for its Latin America work.

Marczak brings more than fifteen years of experience focusing on regional economics, politics, and development. With Marczak's co-leadership, the Arsht Center has established itself as the "go-to" center for analysis and insight on the new Latin America and its strategic role in the transatlantic community. He is at the forefront of its influential work on issues such as trade and global commerce, Latin America 2030, US-Cuba relations, Mexico's reforms, energy, and Brazil.

Katia Bouazza is head of global banking for Latin America at HSBC Securities (USA) Inc. Previously, she was managing director and head of Latin America, Capital Financing where she managed the Latin American origination and financing business across the region and oversaw a number of teams including debt and equity capital markets, leveraged and acquisition finance, syndicated loans, project finance, and M&A execution. Bouazza joined HSBC in 1996 and has more than 20 years of banking experience, which includes vast knowledge of global markets and the emerging markets. She has been recognized by American Banker as one of the top 25 most powerful women in finance for the past four years. Bouazza holds an MBA in finance from the University of Southern California and is fluent in English, French and Spanish.

Robert Theleen has been a pioneer in the development of financial services in China over four decades. He was one of the first Americans to serve as an independent director of Beijing Enterprises, the City of Beijing’s infrastructure holding corporation. He was a senior member of the National Development and Reform Commission of Central Government for financial reform. From 2013-2015, he was elected Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, the largest American Chamber of Commerce outside the United States. He serves on a number of advisory boards of local governments throughout China.

Mark Harrison serves as Partner, Deal Advisory at KPMG. He began his career in London where he spent 5 years working on corporate audits and transaction work for private equity clients. He subsequently worked in our Paris office for over four years focusing on cross border engagements including spending 6 months stationed in Chicago. Since 2008, Mark has been based in our Shanghai office where he advises clients on transactions into and out of China.

Sean Miner is a fellow and associate director of the China – Latin America Initiative in the Adrienne Arsht Latin America Center, where he focuses on the changing political and economic relationship between China and the countries of Latin America, as well as on issues of China’s foreign and international economic policy.

Previously, Sean was the China program manager and research associate at the Peterson Institute for International Economics, where he coauthored Bridging the Pacific: Toward Free Trade and Investment Between China and the United States (2014), and edited and authored numerous briefings on China’s international economic policy and US-China relations, including on China’s One Belt One Road (OBOR) initiative, the US-China Bilateral Investment Treaty, and the path forward for the US-China trade relationship. Sean has also coauthored several reports including the Drift to Deals: Advancing the WTO agenda, TPP: An Assessment, and Does the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership Need a Mid-course Correction?
