In 2015, a special standard called NFPA70E was mandated by the U.S. government department OSHA for work-related protective wear. U.S. companies in China, who are largely aware of this policy, do not realize that there exists fully certified Chinese supply chain partners and still import overseas products. Due to the rapid advancement of technology in China, companies have easier access and reachable supplies of certified products through vetted and certified supply partners in China.

This presentation will cover two topics:
  • Update and Overview of NFPA 70E for Electric Arc Protection in the Workplace: Mandated globally for U.S. companies by the USA Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) of the Department of Labor in 2015.
  • Update and Overview of NFPA 2112 for Flash Fire Protection in the Workplace: NFPA 2112 is not yet mandatory, but has been adopted internationally by many of multinational oil & gas companies. (Equivalent to GB8965 which is the Chinese standard for flash fire protection).

Austrian-owned and head-quartered in Lenzing Austria, Lenzing Fibers produces cellulosic textile fibers based on sustainable harvest and production; one of the produced fibers is used to make protective clothing for industrial applications.
