Big Data is taking over the business world with experts saying data is the future. As society and consumer behavior becomes more digital, the ability to capture data, gather insights and learn from it is becoming increasingly important for organizations. The road to becoming a data analyst and building that capability is also becoming more challenging as the landscape gets more complex.

Today, companies have a wide selection of available data sources; in addition to vendors that can provide research, there are third party data, systems developers, consulting services, and more. Although there may be immense value in this landscape, it is still vitally important for companies at the early stages of their data journey to first develop internal capabilities in order to maximize the value of their efforts. Without doing so, companies risk negatively impacting their budgets and key business opportunities and insights.

This “How-To” session from Marketing & Media Committee is designed to provide guidance on how companies can jump start their internal data endeavors. In this session, Chase Kusterer will share best practices and insights on how to develop proper data capabilities from the ground up.
