AmCham Shanghai’s Human Resources Committee invites you to join Inclusive Workplaces are Better Workplaces on Thursday, September 21 from 11:30 – 13:30 at the AmCham Shanghai Conference Center.

Differences make all the difference. If we can create a work environment where people feel they can be accepted for who they are, we know it will ultimately lead to better results for our clients, our business and better experiences for our people. At the workshop, we will cover:
  • Why is it important to have an inclusive workplace?
  • How does frame of reference and unconscious bias impact on our decisions?
  • What are the challenges and how is it changing in the information age for Gen Y and Z employees in the main workforce?

    Janet Mi is a Director of Consulting with Aperian Global, based in Shanghai, China. For the past 20 years, Janet has worked
    across the United States and Asia, with particular focus on talent acquisition, talent deployment, and leadership development.
    Some of Janet’s previous roles before Aperian Global have focused on talent acquisition and on supporting the talent's on
    boarding, ongoing development, and role transitions while ensuring and maximizing their full potential. Janet has worked across a spectrum of talent management specialties, from identification and acquisition through planning, training, development, and deployment. Janet holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and is certified in MBTI, NLP, Situational Leadership II as well as several Lominger Leadership Architecture Suite offerings: Learning Agility, CHOICES, and Interview Architect. She is also a certified coach through Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership (IECL) in Australia.

    Alice Wong has over 20 years of HR experience in HR enablement, business partnering, performance management, diversity and inclusiveness, organizational development, recruiting and people engagement. She joined EY 11 years ago and used to work in consulting, corporate, Big4 and executive search firms. She has a Bachelor of Anthropology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and is the Chairperson of HR Committee at Amcham Shanghai. Alice resides in Shanghai with her husband and two children.

Julie graduated from Tsinghua University with a Bachelor Degree. She also holds Master of Science from University Of Illinois At Urbana-Champaign, and MBA from The Wharton School, University Of Pennsylvania.

Prior to being a consultant, Angela was Head of OD for a Fortune 500 company VF group , as well as Corporate Learning & development Director for Parker Hannifin, Loral and Amway. Her diverse experience in leading people in different functional roles from sales and marketing to human resources to senior management, as well in different corporate cultures allows her to provide otherwise hidden insights to her clients.
