    Clients & Markets Leader at PwC

    Dan DiFilippo is PwC's Clients & Markets Leader for the Consulting business in China and Hong Kong; he also serves as the PwC Senior Relationship Partner for a Fortune 40 client.
    Dan joined PwC’s Assurance practice in 1984 and one year later joined PwC’s Consulting practice. Dan has worked with Fortune 500 clients developing and implementing solutions in areas such as strategy and operations, risk management and compliance, people and change management, finance, and technology. In this capacity he has served many of PwC's largest, global clients including Pfizer, Sony, Citi, Ingersoll Rand, The Nielsen Company, UBS, AIB as well as several others. Dan has spent extended periods of time working outside the U.S., in markets such as the U.K., Ireland, Germany and Japan.
    Dan has a B.A. in Accounting from Rutgers University Newark College of Arts & Science and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New Jersey and New York State Societies of Certified Public Accountants. Dan is a member of the Rutgers University Foundation Board of Overseers, a member of the Rutgers-Newark University Dean's Cabinet, A member of the St Mary High School Alumni Board, and also serves as Communications Committee Chairperson on the Independent College Fund of New Jersey Board of Trustees.

As the Dean of Scheller College of Business at Georgia Institute of Technology, Alavi is positioning the College as one of the leading technology-oriented business schools in the world.
    A thought leader in the field of IT management, her scholarly work has advanced knowledge of information technology effectiveness and innovations in organizational settings. She has authored numerous published papers, and is one of the most-cited scholars in her field. Based on her professional achievements, she received the prestigious Association of Information Systems Fellows Award, an award given by peers in recognition of the recipient as a role model and inspiration to colleagues and students within the discipline. She was also awarded the distinguished Marvin Bower Faculty Fellowship at Harvard Business School, and recently received a Citation of Excellence Award from Emerald Publishing for her highly-cited paper based on novelty, interdisciplinary interest, and relevancy in today’s world.
    Dr. Alavi is a dedicated and superb business educator. She has taught business students in the undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and executive programs at several universities and in Europe, the Far East, and North Africa.

    Dr. James Liang is currently the Founder & chairman of Ctrip.com, the leading online travel agency in China. In 1999, together with 3 business partners, James Liang founded Ctrip.com. He was the CEO from 2000 to 2006, and re-appointed the CEO again in 2013. He has been the chairman since 2003. Under his leadership, Ctrip.com grew into one of the most successful Internet companies in China. Ctrip.com was listed on NASDAQ in 2003.
    Liang received a Ph.D. in Economics from Stanford University in 2011, and his research interest lies in entrepreneurship, innovation, and labor market. He coauthored a book "Too Many People in China?" which is the first book that analyzed the negative impact of the “one-child policy”. James Liang is also a professor in economics at Beijing University.

    Dr. Kai Ni is the founder and CEO of HoloMatic. He was also the founder of autonomous driving technology at Baidu since its start in 2013 and led the team to finish road tests on public roads in Beijing at the end of 2015. He left Baidu’s autonomous vehicle team in Dec. 2015 and joined LeSEE (Super Electronic Ecosystem) as Vice President.
    He received Bachelor’s degree in Automation and Master’s degree in Computer Science both at Tsinghua University, where Dr. Ni worked on the THMR-V self-driving vehicle project. Dr. Ni later got his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at Georgia Institute of Technology. After graduation, he joined Microsoft as a researcher working on 3D maps and HoloLens projects. Dr. Ni then joined the Institute of Deep Learning (IDL) at Baidu as a senior scientist. He was in charge of the autonomous vehicle project and also worked on the high-precision map project.

    Dr. G.P. “Bud” Peterson became the 11th president of Georgia Tech on April 1, 2009. Under his leadership Georgia Tech has developed a 25-year strategic plan, launched the public phase of Campaign Georgia Tech, experienced increased enrollment, expanded innovative collaborations and strategic partnerships, expanded the campus infrastructure, and increased national visibility. Peterson came to Georgia Tech from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he served as chancellor. Prior to that, he served as provost at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York, and on the faculty and in leadership positions at Texas A&M University for 19 years. He has worked for NASA and the National Science Foundation.
    Throughout his career, Peterson has played an active role in helping to establish the national education and research agendas, serving on many industry, government, and academic task forces and committees. He has served on a number of national accreditation agencies, with a focus on improving and assessing outcomes for higher education. He also has served on congressional task forces, research councils, and advisory boards, including the Office of Naval Research, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, the Department of Energy, the National Research Council, and the National Academy of Engineering.

    Jack Portman began his career as an architect for John Portman & Associates in Atlanta. He later expanded his responsibilities from the design field to a position of corporate leadership. Initially working with the domestic arm of the Portman companies’ real estate development, he subsequently became involved in the companies’ activities in the Middle East, particularly Egypt and Saudi Arabia. He moved to Hong Kong and later to Shanghai to pursue the companies’ international endeavors in the design, development and management of all East Asian overseas projects. Jack was responsible for Portman’s early entry into China in early 1980, at which time Portman Holdings became one of the first western development companies to develop real estate in China. He later established Portman offices in India and South Korea. Jack, a licensed architect, holds a B.S. degree in architecture from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master’s degree in architecture from the Graduate School of Design, Harvard University.
