Eric Zheng became the President of The American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai in 2022. He has been involved in the Chamber for over 15 years as a member, committee leader, Board member, Board treasurer, Board secretary, and Board vice chair, and Board chair (2018 and 2019).

Eric brings a unique combination of private and public sector experiences to the presidency. He worked in management consulting with PwC in the U.S. and later served for the U.S. Department of Commerce as the principal commercial officer at the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou. Eric had a long career with AIG in Greater China and held a series of positions that culminated in his service as CEO of AIG China. He then chaired the board of Heng An Standard Life Insurance Company.

In volunteer roles, Eric serves as the Greater China regional chair of the Committee of 100 and as a board director of Shanghai Make-A-Wish Charity Foundation. The Shanghai municipal government has granted Eric its Magnolia Gold Award in recognition of his significant contributions to the city. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Fudan University and an MBA from Georgetown University.

Linda Zhao has served as General Manager of ADT Technology Service (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. since 2018, and Chief Consultant of ADTTech Enterprise Sustainable Development Research Institute.
Linda brings over 20 years of hands-on experience in smart factory operations and management to her role. She is a Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma (LSSMBB) and serves on the boards of several prominent industry bodies, including the Industry 4.0 Association, the International Excellence Operations Association, and the Green Supply Chain Association. She is also a recognized blockchain expert for the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT).
In academia, Linda is a Special Expert Advisor for the XJTLU Industry Academy, a Practical Mentor for Graduate Students at the China University of Political Science and Law, and an Adjunct Professor at the China University of Mining and Technology.
Linda has played a key role in shaping industry standards, including participating in the drafting of China's first national standard for the Metaverse Reference Architecture. She also holds 46 copyrighted works, demonstrating her consistent thought leadership output.
Her outstanding industry contributions have earned her numerous prestigious honors. She received the Digital Leadership Award at the 2025 11th Finance Summit and the WOD Manufacturing Digital Innovation Award 2025 for Digital Leadership. She was also featured on the 2024 FORTUNE China’s Most Influential Business Women Future List.

Mr. Chuntao Dong serves as the Director of Technical Solution for Greater China at Palo Alto Networks, where he is fully responsible for presales leadership, channel and customer relationship management, and overall technical engagement across the region. Acting as a bridge between the product R&D organization and frontline business teams, Mr. Dong plays a key role in introducing new products to the market, delivering technical enablement to sales teams and partners, and gathering customer requirements to provide structured feedback to product managers.

Prior to joining Palo Alto Networks, Mr. Dong led network and security presales for VMware Greater China. He has a strong background in networking and cybersecurity, having spent many years at Cisco, where he held various roles including Technical Support Engineer, Technical Support Manager, Senior Advanced Services Manager, and Senior Systems Engineering Manager. During his tenure, he supported both enterprise and service provider customers, gaining extensive experience across technical support, professional services, presales, and sales, and consistently achieving outstanding performance.

Before joining VMware, Mr. Dong also worked at an OpenStack startup and at HNA Technology, giving him substantial experience in open-source cloud computing as well as in-house technology management on the customer side.

She brings over 20 years of progressive leadership experience across procurement, operations, and site management, having previously held senior roles at Danfoss (Plant Director) and Flextronics (Commodity Manager). She holds a bachelor’s degree from Suzhou University and an MBA from Nanjing University.
Under her leadership, the Suzhou site has earned the Shingo Prize for operational excellence, along with multiple recognitions for green manufacturing, intelligent production, and occupational health. Her leadership strengths — Strategic, Developer, Relator, Context, and Responsibility — enable her to drive continuous improvement, build cohesive teams, and uphold the highest standards of quality and compliance in the medical device industry.

Prior to Covestro, she served as Head of Digital Innovation, North Asia and Investment Director at BP Ventures, where she focused on emerging technologies and ecosystem building. Earlier, she held multiple management roles at GE, gaining extensive experience spanning product commercialization to global strategy execution.

Ian Shih (President, Rockwell Automation China)

Ian Shih has served as President of Rockwell Automation China since July 2018, responsible for the overall business in mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. He is the first Chinese president of Rockwell Automation China.

Ian Shih joined Rockwell Automation in 2008 and has accumulated rich cross-regional and cross-cultural management experience in China, North America, South America and Europe. After taking office as the president of China, Ian Shih led the team to actively promote the implementation of intelligent manufacturing in China and support the transformation and upgrading of China's industries.

Ian Shih holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and a master's degree in manufacturing business management from Pennsylvania State University. In addition, Ian Shih was also selected as the country advisor of Expert Group of the Fourth Industrial Revolution Industry Alliance of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization(UNIDO) and Vice President of Intelligent Manufacturing Industry Association, Vice President of Shanghai Overseas Economic and Technological Promotion Association.

Janny brings more than 23 years of comprehensive experience in leading cross-functional teams, including account, product, sales, and business management in the Chinese life science and pharmaceutical industry.

In her current role, Janny is responsible for driving all commercial and operational management in Greater China, which refers to China, Hong Kong, and Macau, and delivering Avantor’s strategy to significantly grow its Greater China revenue, manufacturing footprint, and team in size and quality. She is also accountable for managing the development and execution of a biopharma-focused “in China for China” and “in APAC for APAC” manufacturing strategy.

Before joining the company, she served as the key Asia Pacific commercial leader in Merck Life Science. She also held various leadership positions at Merck, including serving as General Manager and Head of Process Solutions, China

Janny is an Executive Master of Business Administration from China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). She has also completed the GM certificate course from Babson College and the Sales Management certificate course from INSEAD.

Xie Shaochuan is currently a Senior OPEX Manager at Smith & Nephew Medical (Suzhou) Limited. With 18 years of experience in lean manufacturing and operations management, he specializes in lean operations, systematic deployment of continuous improvement, and organizational capability improvement. Over the past 3 years, he has played a key role in helping the company achieve the Shingo Prize. He was recognized with the Group President Award and honored as a “Shingo Rising Star” by the Shingo Institute.

Prior to joining Smith & Nephew, he served as a Senior Manager at the BOSCH Manufacturing Center of Asia Pacific with the responsibility of implementing the BPS system across regional plants and providing consulting services for external customers. He has accumulated extensive practical experience in lean transformation across the automotive, new energy, and fast-moving consumer goods industries.

Bo Yang (President, Mobility Group, Asia Pacific Eaton (China) Investments)

Bo took the role since October 2020, and his responsibilities cover Eaton’s Mobility business for the entire APAC region, including China, India, Japan, S. Korea, and Australia. In this role, he has had direct oversight of operations, sales performance, market development, customer management, partner relationships, new product launches, and leadership development in the region. Bo joined Eaton in Jan. 2019 as vice president and general manager of China for the Vehicle Group and eMobility.

Prior to his time at Eaton, Bo worked for BorgWarner, where he was general manager, Emissions & Thermal Systems in China. He also spent many years with Navistar in the U.S. and China, where he held various leadership positions. He began his career with the Ford Motor Company as a research engineer in Detroit, Michigan.

Bo holds a master’s in business administration degree from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in Illinois, a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and a master’s in automotive engineering from Tsinghua University in Beijing, China. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in power machinery engineering from Xi’an Jiaotong University in Xi’an, China. Later, he pursued and completed a PhD in Strategy Management at the University of Nottingham while working full-time.

Di Yao is currently the Head of Legal at Google’s Shanghai office. Prior to this role, he served as the APAC Head of Legal and Business Development for GoPro and was a Managing Associate at King & Wood Mallesons. He graduated from Shanghai International Studies University Law School with a Bachelor of Laws, learned a Master of Laws from Stanford Law School, and holds a joint Master’s degree in Humanitarian Law from Peking University Law School and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law.

Di has been a dedicated and active member of AmCham Shanghai for years and currently serves as Chair of the Legal Committee. In this capacity, he leverages his extensive legal expertise and leadership to actively contribute to the Chamber’s success. Under his guidance, the committee received the prestigious Engagement Award, highlighting his commitment to excellence.

Di is eager to continue driving the Chamber’s success and growth. He is committed to leveraging AI to drive transformation within the Chamber and its member organizations, providing legal and policy insights to secure the continued safety and prosperity of US companies, and fostering deeper cross-cultural communication between China and the US.
