Join AmCham Shanghai's Tax Committee and Manufacturers' Business Council on U.S. Tax Reform Opportunity For Manufacturers in China on Tuesday, February 19th from 10:00 - 11:30 AM at the AmCham Shanghai Conference Center.
The US tax reform signed by President Trump on December 22, 2017 is considered by many as the most comprehensive tax reform in the United States since Ronald Reagan was President. This tax reform introduced several new, complex provisions, the understanding and impact of which have been the focus of many multinational companies for the past year. The reform created not only benefits (such as a reduction in the federal corporate income tax rate to 21%) but also challenges (such as a limitation on interest deductions and an expansion of the anti-deferral provisions). Also contained in the 500+ page tax law is a single sentence that creates a potential opportunity for companies that manufacture goods in China (or other non-US jurisdictions) for export to the United States for sale to US customers.
