Event Details
President John F. Kennedy declared National Small Business Week in 1963, which recognizes the contributions of America’s entrepreneurs and small business owners, and continues to be honored and recognized by Presidents of the United States. Running your small business can mean a lot of time in the darkness, in the trenches, and painstakingly pushing your gears inch by inch. Despite distressing times, people in the U.S. who either own or work for a small business help the U.S. economy create about two out of every three new jobs each year.
Also considered an affiliate of U.S. small businesses, AmCham Shanghai’s Trade & Investment Center cordially invites you to our webinar series on May 3- 5 from 8am-9am, to help you understand how U.S. small businesses can expand in the Chinese market. The following representatives from the U.S. government and U.S. small businesses will be present at the webinars:
- On May 3, Ms.Verinda Fike, Country Manager for East Asia of U.S. Trade & Development Agency, will share her insight on gaining market access and leveling the playing field.
- On May 4, Mr. Christian Koschil, Commercial Officer for the U.S. Department of Commerce's Foreign Commercial Service at the U.S. Consulate General in Shanghai, will introduce the different ways to find partners and how to operate in China
- On May 5, a representative from U.S. Small Business Administration will showcase their own experience helping SMEs doing business in China.
