We are honored to invite two experts from S&P Global to share their insights. Louis Kuijs, Chief Economist Asia Pacific at S&P Global Ratings, will provide a global and China macroeconomic outlook, exploring the key economic narratives shaping the region. Eunice Tan, Head of Credit Research, Asia Pacific at S&P Global, will discuss regional credit trends and their implications across Asia-Pacific markets.

    Louis Kuijs

    Chief Economist Asia Pacific at S&P Global Ratings

    Louis leads the Asia Pacific macro team and its research. He contributes to S&P Global Ratings’ macro-credit narrative and represents the firm in events, conferences and the media, delivering its insights and thought leadership to the marketplace.

    Before joining S&P Global Ratings in 2022, Louis held senior positions in both the public and private sectors, including at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington DC, the World Bank in Beijing, and at the Royal Bank of Scotland and Oxford Economics in Hong Kong. While with the World Bank, he led the China Quarterly Update, headed the Bank’s mid-term review of China’s 11th Five Year Plan and led research on China’s saving and investment, rebalancing, and long-term growth and structural change.

    Managing Director, Head of Credit Research, Asia- Pacific at S&P Global Ratings

    Eunice Tan is Head of Credit Research (Asia-Pacific) in S&P Global Ratings. She chairs the region’s credit conditions committee and risk research group. Together with the team of senior analysts, Eunice leads the region to produce quarterly credit conditions report, cross-practice research and insights to address key market developments and risk trends.

    Eunice is based in Singapore since May 2023, following her relocation from Hong Kong. She worked in S&P Global Ratings’ Hong Kong office when she rejoined in 2015. Before that, she was managing Commerzbank AG’s client relationships for non-bank financial institution clients in Asia. Eunice worked in S&P Global Ratings’ Singapore and Hong Kong office from 2007 – 2011. She started her career in AIA Singapore’s actuarial department.

    Eunice was named as one of the most influential women working in the field of re/insurance globally by “Intelligent Insurer” magazine in 2017 and 2018. She holds a Bachelor of Business (major in Actuarial Science) with a minor in Chinese Language from the Nanyang Technological University in Singapore.

    Associate Professor of Practice in Finance at NYU Shanghai and China Country Director at The Asia Group

    Han Shen Lin is the China Country Head at The Asia Group. Based in Shanghai, Han works in close coordination with TAG’s Washington, DC-based China Practice to lead the firm’s local presence and engagements in China, drawing upon nearly 20 years of in-country experience in China’s financial markets and corporate strategy. In addition to his role at TAG, Han is the Capstone Project Director for the NYU Shanghai MS in Quantitative Finance program and Assistant Professor of Practice in Finance.

    Prior to his current positions, Han was the Deputy General Manager of Wells Fargo Bank, China, where he served as Interim Country Manager and a member of the Management Control Committee, which oversaw the bank’s China governance and risk management. Han also led the China Corporate Banking business, which advised Wells Fargo MNC clients on their U.S.-China cross-border strategic financing and trade needs. Earlier bank roles included Asia Financial Institutions Payments Product Sales Manager; Senior Coverage Banker in the China Financial Institutions Group (FIG); and corporate strategic projects analyst.

    Han holds advanced degrees, including an MA in International Studies from the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, an MS in Global Finance from HKUST-NYU Stern, and an LLM in China Civil and Commercial Law from Fudan University Law School. He completed his undergraduate degree in business (BBA) at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.

    Han is active in the American Chamber of Commerce, Shanghai, having served on the Board of Governors and as a former Chair of the Chamber’s Financial Services Committee. He previously served in both the U.S. Marine Corps and Peace Corps (RCPV Ukraine). Han lives in Shanghai with his wife and two daughters.
