Before this he spent nearly a decade working at an inner-city London school as Deputy Head of Sixth Form, and subsequently as the school's Post-16 Support and Transition Manager. During this time he was responsible for the organisation and provision of higher education advice and guidance, and the management of the school's university application process. In 2010 Mark completed a post-graduate qualification in Higher Education Advice in 2010 to enhance his knowledge and skills in this area.
