AmCham Shanghai's Manufacturing Business Council is co-hosting a seminar with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the Investment Technology Promotion Office, Shanghai (UNIDO ITPO Shanghai) and the Shanghai Pudong Association of Foreign Investment on the Foreign Investment Law of the People's Republic of China on April 15th (14:00-16:30) at 681 Xiaomuqiao Road, Floor 28, Xuhui District, Shanghai, China.
The Foreign Investment Law of the People's Republic of China has been adopted at the Second Session of the Thirteenth National People's Congress on March 15, 2019.
The law instructs the State to adopt a system of pre-establishment national treatment and to cancel the case-by-case approval system management mode. The law also provides guidance on many areas of concern for foreign investors, such as expropriation and compensation, intellectual property protection and technology transfer.
Foreign investment management expert Mr. HUANG Feng who previously served as deputy director at the Department of Foreign Investment Administration of the Ministry of Commerce of the P.R. China and jointly drafted the Foreign Investment Law of People's Republic of China, will deliver the keynote speech. A panel discussion with CFOs and a lawyer will follow the speech.
Michael Zhang, Co-Chair of AmCham Shanghai's Manufacturing Business Council and President of Shanghai Association of Foreign Investment will be the Emcee of the seminar.
