Dan Wang is a director on Eurasia Group's China team, offering strategic insights on China's economic trajectory, policymaking, and global influence. She previously served as the chief economist at Hang Seng Bank China in Shanghai and as an analyst at the Economist Intelligence Unit in Beijing.

A frequent voice in global media, Dan has appeared on CNBC, Bloomberg, and the BBC. She writes a column for FT China. She regularly delivers keynote speeches at government and industry forums and participates in high-level policy discussions worldwide.

Dan holds a doctorate in economics from the University of Washington, with expertise in property rights, environmental economics, and econometrics. She designed and led nationwide surveys on agriculture as a postdoctoral researcher at the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

When not analyzing China's economic conditions, Dan is likely singing, hiking, or creating data charts. She has a soft spot for dogs and likes to read physical books—ideally followed by a dip in a Japanese onsen and a cup of hibiscus tea.
