Join AmCham Shanghai's Legal Committee on Legal and Ethical Issues for A.I. on Thursday, June 21 from 12:00 to 1:30 PM at the AmCham Shanghai Conference Center.

Ron Cai, Partner at Davis Wright Tremaine LLP will give a presentation on unraveling the legal and ethical issues associated with the implementation of Artificial Intelligence. The legal considerations associated with AI are related to whether it should be classified as a product or service. Once this is decided, producers need to decide how its ownership can be shared between developers and consumers, who should be held accountable if something goes wrong and how producers can ensure privacy and security. The ethical issues associated with the implementation of AI are equally controversial and spark debate around topics such as unemployment, inequality, human comparative advantage and human interaction.

Following the presentation will be a panel discussion that will focus more on the commercial aspects and implications. Joining the panel will be Tommy Tang, Associate Partner, Lead Cognitive Business at IBM and Dr. Donghua (Austin) Wang, China AI Strategy Lead at Intel.
