AmCham Shanghai's Women's Executive Network (WEN) invites you to celebrate the life of women's rights pioneer, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, with a film screening of "RBG," the documentary from 6:30 - 9:00 pm on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at EF Education First B1, Jiu An Plaza (铜仁路258号九安广场一楼 英孚教育) .
"To make life a little better for people less fortunate than you. That's what I think a meaningful life is. One lives not just for oneself, but for one's community."
Ruth Bader Ginsburg was only the second woman to serve on the US Supreme Court (1993-2020) . She left a lengthy legal legacy that to this day supports women in myriad ways. In her later years, she became an unexpected pop culture icon, dubbed "The Notorious R. B. G." , a reference to the late Brooklyn-born rapper The Notorious B.I.G., and a name she gleefully embraced.
"RBG" explores her unique and unknown personal journey of her rise to the nation's highest court. The film, which was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary in 2018, highlights the biggest achievements in the late Justice's career but also shows some of her personal life, including her relationships with her husband and children.
