The AmCham Shanghai Technology and Innovation Committee invites you to our next bi-monthly US-China tech and innovation policy update on Wednesday, January 10, from 9:00 a.m. to 9:50 a.m., on Zoom.


The primary objective of these bi-monthly updates is to foster increased information exchange among individuals and member companies. This initiative gives participants a comprehensive understanding of the latest developments within the tech industry as we navigate numerous challenges in the year ahead.


Erik Walenza, Chair of the AmCham Shanghai Tech & Innovation Committee, will facilitate the meeting. Our guest speaker is Michael Frank, Senior Fellow at the CSIS Wadhwani Center for AI and Advanced Technologies, who will share recent tech and innovation policies. Participants are strongly encouraged to share their perspectives and actively contribute to the discussion.

    Senior Fellow at CSIS

    Michael is a Senior Fellow at the Wadhwani Center for AI and Advanced Technologies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington, DC. His research focuses on the international aspects of AI governance and regulation, and the trade, economic and geopolitical dynamics of AI. Michael previously worked as a public policy analyst with The Economist Intelligence Unit based in Hong Kong. At the Economist, he focused on technology and public policy, including themes such as the economic impact of emergent technologies (AI, 5G, IoT), international influence in tech-sector policymaking (tax, privacy, competition), and the US-China trade war and technological decoupling.
