For regional chapters, branches or subsidiaries, the MNC management of those entities in China faces opportunities and challenges in implementing the company's culture, philosophy, management, and business model, while incorporating the Chinese context and local characteristics of the business. As a result, MNC management teams in China need to effectively communicate and articulate their localization efforts and strategies with the headquarter counterparts. Often, MNC headquarters communicate with their China management teams through electronic communication or short visits, which poses a challenge for the HQ to understand the business situation in China in a comprehensive manner. Therefore, effective communication with headquarters is imperative in helping the HQ decision makers better understand the Chinese market, customers and employees, so that they can better support the China management team's business plans and strategies.
