Event Details

The AmCham Shanghai Healthcare Committee invites you to the monthly Healthcare Industry Update on May 19, Thursday, from 10:00 am to 10:45 am held via Zoom Meeting. The session will feature Carrie Xiao, Healthcare & Life Sciences Partner at Deloitte China, and Alan MacCharles, Commercial Strategy & Research Partner from the same firm. During this month's call, speakers will discuss MNC businesses localizing in China.

China's Covid response has resulted in an acceleration of long-term healthcare reform while other policies have forced companies to reconsider their future direction. Impacted by travel restrictions and Covid control measures, many management teams in China are rethinking new ways to engage with their HQ to thrive in a dramatically different operating landscape in China.

The speakers will describe real cases of MNC businesses localizing in China. Both of them will share with the audience their expertise, recent project experience, and observations from the field.

Speakers will also share their views about some key issues such as the impact of restricted global mobility on talent retentions and how HQ re-evaluates various options such as local governance and autonomy, joint venturing to manufacturing investments, etc.

This event is held virtually. The Zoom link will be provided via email once registration is completed.
